I used to enjoy watching Rugby back in the era of Farr-Jones and Lynagh but not so much now.
If it was played like the Barbarians I'd watch every game but I'm sure the purists would be offended. Sadly its potential is stifled by its rules and refereeing.

I think the refs lose control of the ruck. rule changes have made it harder. As a back I was never a fan of getting rucked at the breakdown so did the right thing now there is nothing a team can do to reduce infringement. The refs have then another area to police with less vision.

But then again it is like wrestle in League ...if players weren't trying to get around the rules you wouldn't have an issue in regards to the rucks and scrummaging

In both codes referees have to do more than they used to just keeping up with rule changes
People will always push the limits of what they can get away with unfortunately

Simple make rules that make it madness for players to even attempt it ....penalized for a wrestling hold .....you get benched for the next 3 defensive sets ....watch it stop like that

I like your thinking but I can't see it ever happening

QANTAS drops 30yr sponsorship of Rugby Australia. Rugby Australia have no Sponsor or TV deal after this year.

Rumours of Fortesque Metals coming to the rescue and getting the Force back into the comp next year.

Korobete has dropped a little pace but still quicker than anyone WT has.Plus has added more power/size than JAC and is equally competitive under the high ball
With Rugby having no tv deal at this stage, coupled with no main sponsor both adding enormous pressure on Rugby salary caps($5mill per state next year over 30 something players, and that may get a further haircut or two ,)if he wants to earn $450-$500k(which wld be his NRL market price) the only options available to him are playing Rugby in increasingly covid affected Europe...or Japan
He was Australian Rugby Player of the year last year,so does have some kudos in the game,,but the local game has limited funds to reward a winger
If we dont get JAC,which seems increasingly challenging goal as each week goes by and our managementget gets outmanouvered by other clubs and playing agents yet again ,Korobete is easily the next best wing alternative still in his prime and we shld be in constant dialogue with his manager and if any interest make a firm offer with a deadline

It is difficult to say which has been the main factor in the continuing demise of the rah rah game, woeful administration , covid -19 or just boring to watch. It will be very difficult for it so survive in Australia without massive financial support from somewhere.

since Alan Joyce and Qantas were sooo involved in getting rid of Israel Falau, they deserve what they get. Wallabies should have stood up to Qantas back then, good ol Raelene

Korobete, Cooper, Beal, O'Connor on mates rates, they need a better employer. Minimum wage each in Tigers

No thanks - let the Rah Rah boys die with the game.

Raelene Castle is a goose. A game that is literally dying and you reject a broadcast offer? They were lucky to get one in the first place.

I hope she is in the running to get the CEO gig at the broncos - 4 years with an option...

Agree Qantas and covid hit which has hammered them however the wat Qantas and Joyce put the pressure on ARU with Falau they get what they deserve
