Rugby World Cup Thread

Gutsy win by the Wallabies, dominated by SA in possession and territory yet they somehow snuck home. I could sense an 07 type game and result where England strangled us, its exactly what happened but with a different result!!

wallabies lucky to win that
do we play the winner of NZ/Arg or from the other pools?

Nah the winner of NZ/Arg, the finals stage is basically split with the Northern Hemisphere teams on one side and the Southern Hemisphere teams on the other side.

I don't watch much union, but to my understanding the Wallabies didn't even play well at all, apart from maybe the first 15 mins. In the end, their defense won the game for them..and also onto Quade Cooper, I don't see what the fuss is all about with this guy, he played terrible today and almost cost them the game.. in the last 3 games before that he was nothing special either. Looks like he is always looking for the miracle play.

hopefully argentina beat the allblacks but i doubt thats going to happen

well well, argentina are winning 7-6 after 33 mins. i never though i'd say this but c'mon pumas! i would rather wallabies play pumas in the semi final instead of all blacks

How we defied the penalty count, error count, line-out loss count, tackle count, possession percentage, territory percentage, the list goes on…..., and still won against a world-class team is astonishing. Once they gained the lead around the 60th minute mark, you could have sworn were weren't going to win. It shows we can still be dangerous even if we aren't in top flight, similar to the Tigers really .

If we play NZ next week, we can't afford such lop-sided possession and territory. If we give them the same amount of ball we did to SA today, we will be exposed.

Wallabies put together a great defensive effort - one of the finest Defensive games I have ever seen.

Much like Tigers/Storm 2009 -

Tigers 16-6 with Chris Lawrence scoring a try on the bell to nail it.

Having the option to listen to the Springbok commentary on Foxtel made it all the more satisfying - they were heartbroken, and almost sounded like they felt cheated.

The NZ v Wallabies game reminds me of 2010 Tigers v Saints semi
You know whoever wins will beat the team they play in the final the next week either way .

Very dull game of football that one. The aussies will bounce back….minor hiccup.

Wallabies paying $2.90 ! Believe it, this is a 50/50 game, mental strength will win this one. Kiwis are under massive pressure and we are the underdogs. They're worried, you'd better bet. 63% possession, 54% field position, won the breakdown contest at the rate of three to one against the Argies and they could only post two tries.

Look for big games from the loosies and if Genia and Cooper can work their way into the game and get through the initial pressure, we're on for an upset. Hope they play SBW, his defence has been rubbish

Its going to be a cracker of a game.

CANNOT understand for the life of me why our boys are $2.90 that is ridiculous money.

The Wallabies haven't won at Eden Park in 25 yrs. That probably has something to do with it

I think everyone forgets the Kiwis are perennial choke-artists - moreso than the Dragons are/used to be.

They are the number one rugby teamin the world for 3 years and 10 months of the 4 year world cup calendar, and ALWAYS fall over at the last hurdle.

Wallabies to win by 5 - Heck ill even throw 20 bucks on it for giggles.
