Rumour Barba & Maitua

Really? And I had him pencilled in for us next year… I'm also hearing Cam Smith isn't coming to the Tigers either.

Dammit. Really?!! I hear Melbourne are looking at Iosefa to fill the gap.

Milky. Massive difference between Inglis and Barba mate. Massive!

I prefer the idea of Tedesco being our fulltime fullback tbh. As for Reni, no thanks.

So I hope this isn't true. Funny how you win a few games and all the rumours turn into players wanting to come to the tigers. 6 weeks ago it was rumours of players wanting to leave.

If we signed Barba it'd be the best signing the club has ever made. Ever. Anyone who doesn't want him is mad. Tedesco has shown talent but Ben Barba was close to the best player in the world last year.

Barba won't be coming to the Tigers. If he leaves Bulldogs, it will be for a Queensland team.

exactly , no chance in hell (would love it but people are dreaming ) .

It would be the best signing ever (by a Country mile). If it wasn't for Slater he would be in the Origin team, at worst Inglis Fullback , and Barba on the wing.

I'd take Barba anyday. Our backline would be very dangerous.

1\. Barba
2\. Koro
3\. Simona/Nofo
4\. Teddy
5\. Richards

Move Lawrence to 2nd Row (it's time guys). And then I think we have a team that would be a serious, serious championship threat in 2015.

As for Maitua. Thanksbutnothanks.
:wtf

Ask yourself why Doogs. Cos he was playing off a brilliant forward pack. Why is he starting to find form again, cos those forwards are back from injuries. Forget throwing stupid money at backs. we have enough, we need money spent up front on grunt. Our backs will shine and start to play like "best players in the world" only when that platform is laid. It's no coincidence all our wins have come off go forward from our forwards. Nor any other team out there.

I believe if we are going to buy players then it should be players in positions we need.
1\. we got 4 capable fullbacks in motlz. teddy and meaney plus moses can play there too so waste of money for barba.
2\. we got enough second rowers in fulton, BMM, thompson, pettybourne, anasta, farlow and sue. not to mention Sironen should be in 2nd row. it would have to be a gun player otherwise waste of money
3\. we have plenty of props with taupau, galloway, Seumanufagai, groat, woods plus nathan brown in u/20
4\. got enough halves we have brooks, marshall and moses not to mention sironen is our current half back. rather try out our young guns then risk buying someone and losing them
5\. got too many centres and wingers - lawrence, reddy, koro, Nofoaluma, simona, ashyford and richards.
6\. no need for hooker.

Wests should hold out for quality, origin/international players. do what penrith and st george are doing but much better. we have enough talent and we need to stop buying players who were well known and get off the marketing bandwagon. tuquri, blair and anasta have not worked out.

Rose, reni and barba is a waste. you also gotta think. why would bulldogs let go of their golden child and pay for him to play for a rival team? is folau really better then barba? i mean barba almost got them a grand final last year. if this was inglis, fair enough but folau??? the guy hasnt played league for years and we all know how long it takes rugby players to adapt to nrl standards. Folau is more a winger, centre too so wouldnt it make more sense to offload morris, inu, drury low, mitch brown and a youngie. total rubbish if you ask me.

Oh dear. That's brilliant.

The one thing that Sheens was right about was getting one marquee signing each year.

I think we have a lot of young blokes with potential, unfortunately, only a very small percentage of these ever reach their full potential.

Look at the top teams over the years, they are always bringing in top talent that's why we keep screaming "cap cheats". I want to be like them!

I think we had the overall team to win these past few years, but now we are back to square one. Our star has faded big time and now success is a long way off. We are rebuilding, so why not a marquee signing every year?

wow at people that don't want him, if inglis was coming here would you be disappointed.

He is not nowhere near as good as inglis !!
Barba has no heart he can't tackle and he won't put his body on the line like teddy , in matua I reckon he will be cheap and can defend and attack

Im not sure why people are so against Benny Barba coming to this club, for me he is a player in the mould of our 2005 team, he plays with the same vision and i think his presence could reignite Marshall. I agree Tedesco has a strong future but as he proved at the start of the season he is an equally adept winger. I think we could accommodate both you'd potentially be looking at a 2014 squad of:

1\. Barba
2\. Tedesco
3\. Richards
4\. Nofo
5\. Koro
6\. Marshall
7\. Brooks
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Sironen
12\. Fulton
13\. Anasta

14\. Sue
15\. Taupau
16\. Lawrence
17\. Buchanan

18\. Simona
19\. BMM
20\. Pettybourne
21\. Ava S
22\. Thompson
23\. Ayshford
24\. Farlow
25\. Reddy

Im working on the assumption or hope that Utai, Tuquiri, Moltzen and Blair are shown the door
Moses to stay in NYC/NSW and be brought up as recquired

Your kidding yea?

Its good to see the club is being active in the market place if of course the above rumor has some legs, I really think Maitua is way to old and to small and Barba would cost the world and I think we have players within our ranks who could be better in the long term. Really barring a standout backrower, centre or front rower,Iam happy with what we have.

Barbara will go up North and the signing of Maitua for the remainder of the season and next year would be a good idea.. Many of the younger crop are still a couple of years away from being permanent 1st graders so this idea makes since to me.
