Rumour Ricky Stuart to West Tigers

Don't forget Wally wasn't that good either. Just something about great players not making the greatest of coaches.

I agree with Payten. Looks like that's the plan Sheens to stay as director and Payten NRL coach in 2015.

I would be very supportive if that plan came to fruition.

I'm not sold on Payten at all however I like that option. I'd prefer to see Hodgo come back and take up the role after serving an apprenticeship.

Hodgo was one of our best players - a great guy and a great player.

Surely if someone from within the club was to be promoted you'd have to think it'd be Georgalis.

Hasler won 21/48 his first couple of years coaching.
Flanno won 9/23 his first year
Just two eg:s of many

coaches can change…..its usually his personnel that brings this change

You cant rely on the past when looking to the future if change for the better is what youre trying to achieve

Sticky has been linked to every club in the NRL that are at present under performing. Really cant see the Tigers sacking Sheens unless their was a total player revolt and it seems most of the group if not all of it like having him in charge. If and when the coaching job comes up I would imagine Gentles would be high on their list.

Never been a fan of Sticky's football vision but he is the sort of bloke we need to get some real attitude back in defense. They need to harden up and after the last two weeks every club will be pouring their big men up the middle with every chance of cashing in

Stuart is an incredible defensive coach. The Roosters/Sharks were very VERY strong defensively, but didn't score too many points.

If anything, he doesn't fit the ethos of the club. We are an attacking team and it's ingrained in our culture, to get Stuart would be weird.

I've heard (on the radio/via blogs) that Anderson is kind of racist, and hence why he's been sacked by the two clubs that he's coached even though they were enjoying success at the time.

You could say the same thing about the Broncos they were an attacking team and Bennett realised they had to change or he wouldn't have a job

Defence wins you premierships and GF's in the end

We need to learn to change or things have to change

If we can find a style with a higher sucess rate why not change? Everyone goes on about how boring Stuart's style is, but if that style could win us a premiership would anyone still be complaining?

But we have to get the mix right

I know I joke about Stuart being a crap coach , but if you could get the right assistant to work with our attack and Stuart lets him run without hinderance you never know

It could possibly work

Notwithstanding his efforts in origin, I don't believe that Ricky Stuart would offer anything for the Tigers as an NRL coach. While he is strongly supported by the media, which seem to rate him highly, many don't see him as one of the top coaches. I will add that up until recently the media saw Ennis as NSW's best hooker, and clearly he wasn't/isn't.

I remember the Monday night show on Ten that Stuart was on, he really surprised me with the amount of crap that he preached and surprised me, especially leading up to and during Origin, with how many times he contradicted himself. Look at his open letter to Sheen's, or his outburst as the Australian coach, his professionalism is lacking. Sheen's may have his issues but at least he can handle himself in public.

There are numerous NRL coaches that I would rate above Ricky, one of them is Sheen's.

He's going to the Raiders

i heard the same rumor a month ago .story went , furner will stand down after origin is over and justin morgan will takeover as caretaker and ricky takes up a 3 year coaching job next season .

Maybe we could have Sheens as attacking coach/Stuart defensive coach..a split coaching system now that would be something new..I wonder if this type of thing will happen one day NFL like.

Stuart has nothing to offer any team PLEASE don't let him come here

Despite what some here think we have a pretty good structure in place . We should look at developing one of our existing guys first
