Rumour: West Tigers big signing to be announced soon.

Is there some reason why every bit of good news for this club has to be belittled on this forum? Surely having another sponsor on board is a positive, or am I missing something? The board and management have brought a record amount of sponsorship dollars to the club but I suppose they really should have done more to satisfy the doomsayers.

I'm not belittling the club. It's great we have the sponsors we do. Just disappointed that we can't match it with most other clubs.

According to the mole the deal with Grant is unlikely but we are in the race to sign Copley… or a mystery prop, who knows?

Apparently we have already reached a deal with Grant and his manager. 😕

Well I for one am very happy that Best Buy Autos has enough faith in us to sign up and put money into being our member and coaches sponsor.

Good on you BBA - appreciate your support and hard earned to help the Wests Tigers.

Your support for us is a bigger step than that of other clubs, seeing we are struggling at the moment.

Welcome aboard - hope your business thrives.

I love the idea of a mystery prop signing - reminds me of the old days under Sheens when we always on the verge of signing a mystery prop.

Ray Cashmere is still running around in Group 6 I believe…big body who can tackle..

Not hard to see the motives behind signing a sponsor for our coaches. JT is probably going to appear on a dozen front covers, and millions of articles online, print and on tv over the coming year or so. If he gets replaced the new coach will also be heavily in the media. Plenty of exposure for a low price!

If given the option of Copley or Grant, i'd take Copley any day. But i reckon Gold Coast will be hard to beat, especially since he's a queenslander and they need a new back.

Full on balmain boy, in the same vein Robbie should get an individual sponsor for all the spotlight on him as well. Only half joking but Jasmin Restaurants would be fine. I love them.

lol The Mole gets his info about WTs purely from forums like this. He knows less about the Grant signing than some people on here.

I have heard the exact same about grant from a reliable source, that they are just finalizing minor details. 3 yr deal. Very favorable to us, and it looks like we are picking up another player where the other club is paying the majority of the contract.

A similar deal was reached with Matt Ballin.

Ballin only had one year to go, didn't he?

**BALLIN A SEA EAGLE FOR LIFE**

THEY may have lost Daly Cherry-Evans and Kieran Foran for next season but Manly are set to receive a major boost with the re-signing of veteran hooker Matt Ballin for the next two years.

The 31-year-old is poised to become a Sea Eagle for life, with his new deal to tie him to the club until the **end of 2017**.

Kelly welcomed Ballin's move.

"Matt encapsulates everything we look for in players at our club, hard working, committed and professional, Kelly said.

"He is a truly valued clubman and ambassador. We are thrilled to see him extend, knowing that he will finish his NRL career at the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

“We have also managed to negotiate a very favourable deal with Manly-Warringah to release Matt from the final year of his contract.

Justin Pascoe on the signing of Ballin..FWIW..says final year but was contracted till 2017….

We can all remember the question of the sixties: what would you do if JC returned to Leichhardt?

Sign him up and definitely play him as a forward that's our weakness and he could play the 80 minutes. And hopefully there will be no issues between him and JT as to who is boss.

He performs very well on the wet surface and would fill the stadium coz at the break he could feed them all tuna and Lebo wraps with tabouli.
