Run Captain Run

This guy is the captain of our club. The leader of men! He is paid what $900k per year and yet he cries 'woe is me' at every opportunity. Yes Tallis went against his word but please if you are a man Robbie, face up to the music. Organise your own press conference and answer the questions.

Robbie your actions are watched and as much as i despise Braith Anasta what he said tonight on Sportsnight is exactly correct. The players you lead are watching you, in my opinion you are a poor role model and are not fit to captain this club. As a player you are fantastic, well most of the time, but as a captain you are one of the worst in the NRL.

Robbie, you have a business degree, but what company would ever employ you in a management capacity when you show that when the going gets tough Robbie runs and hides.

There is no "bus" to be thrown under. The clubs media guy (Corfe?) isn't going to start coming under fire is he. Neither he nor Robbie did much wrong.

Think about it, if you were copping flak like Robbie was for something that wasn't true, you might also feel compelled to point out peoples error and clear the air.

i dont know if the media man would be happy having a private text put out there for the world to see. Even if he is cool with it all, it makes our club look amature having the skipper sending private texts through twitter of all places.

Here we go again. Your missing the point, Robbie's exit from the ground creates a story, so does a message that's made public. Both these actions haven't been seen before and we'll never see again. It's out of the ordinary. Personally I couldn't care less why people want to question it, but compelled to point out errors and clear the air. You've just done a Robbie.

Look , am I reading too far into this or does it appear the club is tryng to chase Robbie off

The next point is the absolute lack of communication between all parties at the club

Why is it we find stuff out continually after the horse has well and truly bolted and rumours are flying willy nilly everywhere

Really disappointing , was thinking our club might start to take some major steps forward in all areas and we seem to be going backwards

We are lacking leadership right throughout the club, from the board to the CEO…now the captain.....who evers advising who down the chain is doing a very very poor job

The politics in this joint makes me sick...no more memberships for ink until I see a big improvement all round, walk ups to LO & Cambo looks OK i think

Has Farah lost the most important asset you can have …your team mates! Now throwing the media guy to the sharks ( Tallis like), now a media interview which IMO will probable seal Farah's fait at this club . You never never air dirty laundry this way there is going to be ramifications and maybe that is the idea.
This situation is only going to get worse , the coach has not derailed the push to the finals Robbie Farah has done this himself well done .

Why are you putting an exclamation mark at the end of a question to try and turn it into a statement?
There are no indications the team isn't behind Farah - but there are plenty of indications other people in the club aren't.

DEAR Robbie,

Don’t blame your boss for this horrible mess at Concord.

You allegedly know who leaked the original story about Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter’s impending demise to the media.

TIGERS’ WEEK FROM HELL GETS WORSE

Sorry Robbie, but you don’t know. Only I know, because I broke the story.

It was a piece in The Sunday Telegraph on July 27 revealing a special board meeting had a recommendation to sack Potter.

The board baulked under pressure and Potter survived.

You have since been cast as the villain, the player who stabbed Potter in the back. And I know you have fiercely denied the accusations.

FARAH EXPLAINS HIS MEDIA DODGE

There has been a witch hunt to find who actually leaked the story. You have led the charge.

Wests Tigers chief executive Grant Mayer has been accused, but that is wrong. Mayer’s accusers are only guessing.

For the record, Mayer was not the source Robbie and I will take a lie-detector test to prove his innocence.

It came via another source and proved to be accurate. The board meeting took place that Sunday night.

I hear you conducted a tell-all interview with The Footy Show on Tuesday about the past 10 days of drama, to air Thursday night on Channel Nine. There were suggestions Phil Gould conducted the interview.

Tigers CEO Grant Mayer has been a target of Robbie Farah’s displeasure in recent days.

The mail from Nine is that you were somewhat critical of Mayer and the club’s handling of the entire issue.

There is enormous distrust at Concord at the moment. It seems no-one trusts anyone.

Players, though, are becoming fed up with the soap opera, claiming it is ruining any chance they had of reaching the finals.

Keith Galloway on Tigers' efforts to support Simon Dwyer
Keith Galloway on Tigers' efforts to support Simon Dwyer
Everyone was talking Tuesday about how you knew television reporters were waiting behind the main grandstand at Campbelltown Stadium after Monday night’s match against Melbourne seeking an interview.

To duck the press, you chose to re-enter the field of play, run to the northern end of the ground through a cut-out and into a waiting car which sped off.

I guess you are angry at your perceived treatment, but it was bizarre.

Some at Wests Tigers claim you want Mayer out.

Mayer though has the support of the influential people inside the club at this point. It could however reach a “him or me” ultimatum.

Robbie, you are a gifted player. An Origin player, Test player and arguably Wests Tigers’ greatest player.

But everyone can be replaced.

Teammates want you to back off because their season is crumbling. Some inside the club’s offices feel the same way.

This will come to a head soon. This drama shows no sign of ending.

Mayer has been criticised and questioned. He is a strong administrator, having been through this before at Manly.

He tells anyone who cares to listen that he didn’t leak the story. Perhaps people should start to listen.

Cheers, Bulldog.

What a pompas Ass..Ritchie has soared passed Buzz as the most scumbag journalist (and I use the term losely) on the planet…

Farah is a Tigers legend but is not bigger than the club.
We have no other player that could possibly be captain instead of Robbie. Most of the rest of our players are really young or unlikely leaders.
Which makes Robbie's petulant behaviour even more unacceptable.
What a shame.

Who the hell does Dean Ritchie think he is ? Some of these journalists from News Limited are trying to be bigger than the players …. What would he know about what's going on ?

This interview with Gus Gould should be very interesting tomorrow night.

Does anyone know were Robbie went to get away for those few days. It might have been mentioned, I'm just curious.

Very interesting indeed ! Maybe Farah's coming out of the closet ?
Gould's probably the next best interviewer next to Parkinson .

How much speculation and conjecture has there been in the media and on the forum about this? Too damn much. Farah may be able to clear up most of it with this interview.

According to Paul Kent it was a mandatory part of the deal for ch9 to put 20k into Simon Dwyers benefit fund so i really cant see what the issue is.

Robbie is a super player and for me, undoubtedly the best Wests Tiger. But he'd have to be the worst Captain in the NRL. We start on the backfoot with Refs as it seems they don't like him. And the last fortnight has been embarrassing. Manly are going through player retention and recruitment turmoil and I can't even remember Lyon being quoted. Business as usual for them, while the circus continues at our Club.

Agreed…that's why I think he should be relived of the captaincy.

I wonder if the footy show interview has been sanctioned by the club?..by rights is should...
