Just watched the replay , he goes and makes a tackle where he lands on his knees in a completely innocuous tackle and he gets up fine

Unless something has happened after that where it hasn't happened under contact it didn't seem that bad

From my prospective it isn't a ACL injury

Reason why , when Brooks runs into the corner with about a minute left you can see Packer move backwards to get out of Brooks way

No way in the world you can run backwards with a ruptured ACL , have tried it and collapsed in a heap , that's when the team doc knew it was an ACL injury in my case /situation

Makes me believe from what I saw (again assuming something didn't happen off camera ) that it might be a Posterior CL which is caused mainly in a heavy ground contact incident which won't require surgery and worse case will be 7 weeks if a level 3

Tacky suggested MCL and you are talking ACL. Is it similar?

I'm talking PCL (Posterior Cruciate Ligament ) not ACL or MCL

PCL is from a hyperflexion injury ie , a direct hit to the front to the knee that flexes the knee backwards , or a really hard contact with the ground

It affects the rotation of the knee ,(twisting )

Even in its worst form it doesn't need surgery , some may remember Benji suffered a PCL injury in 2008/09

Medium grade around 3-5 weeks , worst case 7 weeks

The reason I lean towards that is his last action before the injury after watching the replay is he lands hard on his knees making a tackle and from my experience you can't run backwards with an acl tear /rupture

Unless something has happened which we don't see (when we move up the field he isn't involved at all and we don't see him again until the Storm start the next set when play is stopped ) is that tackle is what probably caused the injury

I'd highly doubt he has got up as quickly as he does if he heard the pop of the ACL going and the pain involved after the injury

Again I'm going off my experiences and it could be a low grade ACL tear (well it's not even a tear the ligament gets stretched to a point where you lose strength / control ) which wouldn't require surgery either

The only other issue that PMed Geo about could be actual bone damage to the knee cap , tibia or femur

I also doubt it's an ACL but the pain subsides rapidly even though excruciating when it goes. I did mine playing basketball and went back on 5 minutes later. The issue is almost complete lack of stability of the knee (I lasted until the first time I jumped and fell into a pile on the floor)..
I believe Steve Georgalis played out the rest of his career without getting the surgery but that would be highly irregular and I suspect a real risk to getting an ancillary injury due to unusual mobility of the joint.

It could be a million things. It could be any of the cruciate ligaments, he could have torn a meniscus could be a bone injury.

Wait until the scans.
