Russell Packer

Aloiai to prop. ET to lock

Gutted for Packer, he has been sensational. But wish him a speedy recovery, relieved that its not an ACL

What an absolutely great signing. Rewatched the game yesterday and in Melbourne's penultimate set he made three tackles in a row, including a desperate effort from marker followed up by being part of a group effort on Solomona. Embodies the spirit of the team and will be sorely missed.

Has been my favourite player of 2018\. Has added grunt and go forward that we haven’t had in years. Looks like a true leader unlike our previous “it is what it is” leader. Will be sorely missed.

Speaking of him, Paul Kent has him as one of the worst buys of 2018.

Thank you Paul Kent for proving again you have no idea about footy.

That makes more sense. I’ve watched a few bulldogs games and he has been horrible. Still turns his back, then gives a slow play the ball. They swapped him for graham. Wow what a mistake.

He got that one right.

Has the club officially commented on the extent of Packers injury or are we all guessing?

Guessing based off rumours. He got scans taken yesterday. Odd they haven't announced anything yet.

Josh Reynolds is expected to play his first game in Wests Tigers colours this weekend after being given the green light to return from a hamstring injury against the Manly Sea Eagles.

Reynolds hasn't played a game this season after picking up an injury on the eve of his side's opening round clash against the Sydney Roosters.

Tigers coach Ivan Cleary will name Reynolds in his 21-man squad on Tuesday afternoon and will have to decide whether to start Reynolds on the bench or tinker with a winning formula.
\
\
Benji Marshall and Luke Brooks have been outstanding in the opening five weeks of the season, leaving Cleary with a huge decision to make ahead of the round six clash against Manly at Brookvale Oval.

Reynolds has spent some time at hooker previously, and Cleary had always planned to use him in the No.9 role at some point throughout the match before he got injured.

However he could also reshuffle his side and move Marshall back to the bench to accommodate the return of the club's marquee signing.

Lock Elijah Taylor has also been struggling with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to return in time for the match against Manly on Sunday afternoon.

**The Tigers will also be without prop Russell Packer, who picked up a MCL strain in the victory against the Melbourne Storm in Auckland last week.\
\
The Tigers originally feared Packer had suffered a season-ending injury, however scans later revealed he now faces a six week lay-off.**

Thank you

There has been plenty of 3rd party reporting on Packer's injury but, as yet, no formal announcement from the club. I find that rather odd.
