SuperCoach - The parra deal was there long before Monday he was using it as leverage and it backfired

If that's the case then it really does reflect poorly on Moses to actually try and play that card against the Tigers.

Nothing wrong with the ploy, it's common practice but the tigers offer was always more than the eels in $$ and years he just got greedy pushing for that 850k

So the offer from Parra is less than the one we pulled off the table?

Well I personally don't agree with it. It's backfired spectacularly in this case given he's gone to the Eels for less money, and then there's poor old Benny coming out saying he loves the Tigers but has been forced out. Please, spare me the tissues. He gambled and lost - simple.

Remember it is not about money it is about playing with a better quality team and club .

The deal he's apparently signed with eels is less than what the offer Tigers had there for him prior to Friday yes.

This rebuild will be much quicker than Penrith we have done all the hard work shedding players for the last 5 years.

The players that have left or supposedly going would form one almighty team.
1\. Tedesco 2\. Koro 3\. Austin 4\. Simona 5\. JAC 6\. TMM 7\. Moses 8\. Woods 9\. Farah 10\. Fifita 11\. Tapau 12\. Heighnington 13\. Nathan Brown

Overall about $100k less but tigers was 3 years eels is 2\. He had months to sign it. It was pulled Friday by Cleary and I'd say he panicked and went with the parra offer

Just ask CK, Moses did nothing wrong.

Apparently the club are the bad guys, how dare they offer a contract for months and then get fed up and pull the offer.

This is probably the best article I've read all week, in so far as Girds and Soward are 100% with what they are saying and echoing the thoughts of probably just about every Tigers fan out there. Brooks, Moses, even Sirro was in the same boat, they were all being paid on potential, and so far I'm not seeing Mitch stepping up and winning games for us. As for Elias, well he couldn't lie straight in bed based on those comments. **The Tigers made it perfectly clear they were going to revise the offer to Moses based on what the NRL is now suggesting the cap should be set at.**

Yeah…. sorry mate, we don't want you but when we know what the cap is we might have another think about it.
There was no saying we don't think we can afford the current offer, would you settle for this?
The offer to play here was completely withdrawn - basically telling him you're not in our plans for the future.

Moses had plenty of time to sign. He didn't, instead waited too long and the goal posts moved. His problem not anyone else. That's what happens in negotiations, unless you are prepared to walk away, which is what the club did, you are in a weak position. I suspect what happened is the original offer was too high. Cleary comes in and says no, the offer was reduced. Moses bails so WT thought OK our priorities are different now that Brooks has signed. WT withdrew the offer, saying if the situation changes we'll come back to it. Moses misses out simply because either he or his manager waited too long and got burned by a smart negotiator.

If Woods is a true leader and he believes in Cleary and the club then he should put pen to paper and back the club.

Moses should be released immediately, there has to be a line in the sand.

No should be dropped to Reggies for the rest of the season and not allowed to dictate to the club what it should do.

So basically you want to do Parramatta a favour? If we play Rankin and Littlejohn in the halves for the rest of the year we will not win a game. We'll be struggling to score a point. Releasing him is stupid unless we get something in return, which we won't.

To be fair, it's not like we're running in points at will down Mitch's side as is. I think there was a stat that he was the only starting 6 who, after 5 games, hadn't recorded a try assist or line break assist. I don't know if his grubber that Widdop dropped and Kev scored on counts, but the bloke has been struggling.
I wouldn't exactly like to see Rankin and JLJ, but if Mitch dogs it then he's got to go. That said though, it suits all involved for him to show up and play like everyone knows he can. Then he can go to Parra at the end of the year and play like that, forumers will forget this whole sh*tshow and complain about us letting him go.
Repeat cycle with next player that goes on to kill it at another club (hopefully not Teddy).

My personal take on this is that Cleary only wanted one of the current halves - Brooks or Moses.

Moses offer was more than Brooks in terms of money and length at Cleary's behest I believe. That tells me that even Cleary probably preferred Moses.

For whatever reason, Brooks decided to sign first. The rest is now history. The uncertainty of the salary cap played a big part and no-one would disagree with the club prioritising Woods and Tedesco over Moses.

And no-one can argue that all 4 of them had plenty of time to sign a new contract
