Ryan Tandy found dead

@Fade To Black said:
Tandy got banned from the NRL for life, Cameron Smith got made captain of Australia as his punishment for something that was equally as dodgy and deceitful. The double standards in the NRL are disgusting.

Was Smith ever charged with kidnapping a man?

The fact you'd compare the two is laughable

I thought he was banned for being a low life cheating tool…like smith.

The world is never black and white.

Ryan Tandy was a funny guy who was good fun to be around, the life of the party type. I dont know him well, but have met him a number of times and mates of mine have had more to do with him.

He had is problems and those problems led him down an ever increasing bad path, which although his own doing is sad in itself

It was a sad end to a life,

Tandy like most of us has flaws, but like most of us, also had some great characteristics and it is a sad day for many people.

RIP

Yep. I learned long ago that judging others is not the way to go.

I have great sympathy for his family and friends. Like others have said, this bloke was hung out to dry when he was just a symptom of a wider problem within the sport.

When Smith becomes a stand over man and gets charged for kidnapping somebody over a drug debt then get back to me.

You seemed confused. Tandy was not booted out of the NRL for being a "stand over man". He was booted out for being a cheat…like smith...like F2B said in his original post. Smith knowingly cheated the game, and got made national captain. Tandy obviously had issues, knowingly cheated the game and got the arse. Both acts deserved life bans.

Your talking about things that he did years after he banning, after he lost his livelihood. You understand the difference? Probably not.

Really? So you give smith such little intellectual credit to think that the team around him was legit?

Anyways you seem to get off on this type of back and forth,I've said my piece.I'll let you carry on with your weird, argumentative ways.

Idk wtf you're talking about.

If you're alluding to him being in on rorting the cap and knowing how much all his team mates were on, put your money where your mouth is and back up that claim with evidence.

Congrats to you GNR, you have managed to come out of this discussion looking quite the dimwit! Put your perpetual chubby for Cam Smith away for once and think about what you are blubbing on about. If you can't realize that Smith knowingly rorted the system then you have your head up the old clacker for certain. Unbelievable really…..

Is this a thread about Ryan Tandy, or a thread hijacked by FTB's incessant obsession to bring anything he can back to his favourite NRL club.

We get it, you hate the Storm. Congratulations.

Don't be such a pathetically weak coward that you are now backing away from your statements and misguided opinion because you have been proven wrong by half a dozen or so people on here. Shameful. Not to mention coming onto this thread, which very well might be viewed by members of Ryan Tandy's family, and saying that you 'have no sympathy'. You are a class act, grow a pair. Everybody's sympathy should go out to his family at least, they would be devastated at this time.

Don't be such a diva FTB

If anything ever happened to a Storm player i'm sure you'd be front and centre with your sympathies wouldn't you

And where did anyone provide proof i was wrong?

Look if there is anything we have learnt from salary cap ,tpa's etc that it is a very complicated business

How you'd expect 25 footballers to all sit down and nut out exactly what each other is earning is absolute madness

These blokes would probably only know what their final salary is , they wouldn't really care where it was coming from , how it was broken down

On a final note , Something I was taught was never speak ill of the dead Lacks respect

Well said both of you and respectful.

He wore our jumper for a short time, a part of our history however minimal his role was.

We all make mistakes, thankfully most dont pay the ultimate price like Ryan did

Just listened tp Paul cent on 360, speak again very poorly about Ryan Tandy!
I really feel for the Tandy family and it is a real shame and sad situation!!
Lets just hope that if the great Paul Cent happens too pass, that people have more respect than he does on this matter!?!
And not explain insensitively, that Paul was an arrogant self claimed no all who actually never was, did anything of significance, except to be a Pratt!!!!
Talk about a shock jurno!! Kyle sanderlands eat your heart out!!!
Knob…

I dont think he spoke poorly of tandy, he told it how it is imo….ive heard similar from ex palyers on radio the last few day about him

He did play only 36 games, 1000s of blokes have done that

Not many been banned for life, thats why hes remembered for that - his claim to fame so to speak, Tandy Im sure wouldve laughed it off

Not forgetting of course two players who will line up for their country tonight, the first, who sought and was granted a diversion order to prevent a conviction for domestic violence and the second who thrust a glass into his partners face, was convicted, then sentenced, only to avoid goal through a successful, albeit contrived and orchestrated appeal

Tandy was a patsy, he was expendable, in the main because he was a fringe first grader. If his name Inglis or Bird, he'd have been given an armchair ride through the highly developed RL process known as 'redemption'
