Sack Sheens Thread

I agree… Sheens time is up. Has been a great coach for a long time, but i think the game has moved past him.
It is NOT Sheens fault the Tigers have had a below par season. The players MUST be held accountable too. But Sheens has been lacking in ideas and ambition. He changes 6 or 7 positions just for one injury. Utai has run the ball harder then anyone all year, but he's not a winger. Marika has flourished with his chance, i think it's time to give others a go. Please tell me they are not re-signing Lote ?!?
Players Sheens has let go - Mitch Brown, Jake Mullaney, Matt Ryan... not too mention Fifita and Gibbs (don't think any tigers fan will ever accept that one)... Why couldnt we fit Gibbs and Fifita under the cap ? But we can afford, Thompson, Pettybourne, Anasta, Bell... Huge fail on the recruitment department, is that still Warren Mcdonnell ? The bloke who signed his own son up many years ago over other promising fullbacks? maybe his time is up too!!!
We need to rebuild and make a club that star players want to play for. Luke Lewis and Michael gordon both couldve signed for us, but chose not too... We need to attract those stars that are coming off contract, Thurston ? Or even Izzy Folau ? He'll be coming back in a couple years but he won't come too the Tigers the way we are headed.
There's an elephant in the room... We all know it, some of you have defended him all year, but c'mon... Adam Blair is getting paid how much ?!?!?? Someone needs to get fired over that one. I'd rather sign David stagg from the doggies, atleast the bloke has some heart and can TACKLE !!!! Give me a forward who can tackle ! Please, stop leaving it upto Fulton and heigno every week !
Next we need a halfback, as much as Robert Lui had his defences lapses, he has been a huge loss. (not the fault of the tigers) But we need to replace him. Benji is running around like a chook with his head cut off, and simply is not taking on the line enough, he needs a halfback.
Bottom line is, we were favourites at the start of the year and now if knights, dragons, titans have good wins we may finish 12th. Not good enough, changes required. But hey if we mircaulously win the comp from 8th somehow then disregard ! haha unlikely

Tuqiri should be signed for match payments only!
**He** pays the Club $10,000 per game played. I am serious.
OR make him defensive coach. Not serious.

I'm going to get savaged for this, but I don't agree that the board and CEO should sack Tim Sheens. Whether we need a new coach or not is for judges more knowledgeable than me to determine, but Sheens has turned this club on it's head, won us a premiership that I think we can all agree nobody expected whatsoever. He is the only premiership winning coach in Wests Tigers history, and the only one in the last 50-60 years of Wests or the Tigers. That being said, maybe they need a new voice in there, but that should come at Sheens leaving the job rather than him being sacked.

In 2002 a second rower in the Wests Magpies SG Ball premiership winning team was offered a significant amount of money by the Storm to join them for the following season. The Wests Tigers were desperate to hang onto him, but could not even dream of matching the offer for an 18yr old. His name was Ryan Hoffman, who went on to become an international. In 2007 Melbourne Storm offered a Balmain front rower (16 at the time) a massive amount to join them. He didn't want to leave, but it was extremely hard to knock back that kind of money at 16\. Wests Tigers couldn't go close to matching the offer, but after speaking to the management and the coach, he stayed because he wanted to be coached by Tim Sheens and stay at the Tigers. That kid was Aaron Woods, and he is likely to become our club's next international.

If not for Tim Sheens we would be losing these kids and our best juniors would be playing at rival clubs, let alone the fact our recruitment (players like Lote, Ellis) would be hardly existent.

Heres an idea, instead of renewing membership, spend that money on advertising the petition on facebook, surely it will get the signatures then….easy to target tigers fans who dont use this forum, cos even oldies use facebook.. So heres its chance to be useful

Day 2 - upto 130 signatures.

No…. I don't get involved in this type of rubbish as I don't have any right to tell the Wests Tigers how to run their business!

Maybe you should hold a picket line out the front of Leichhardt on Sunday and stop everyone entering the ground like the Union knob-heads in Melbourne?!

Wow! Let me guess you don't vote, question your boss, etc because you don't have the right! And yes all unions are bad and all business are perfect. Wake up buddy! Not everything is black and white (and gold)!!!

This thread is about Sheens though and my opinion is it is time to go… Fresh approach needed.

Lol, I need to wake up???

Your the one coming on here trying to rustle up signatures for a petition based on the mis-belief you are are entitled to demand change. :crazy

It will probably show up as SPAM in Humphries email after its been sent, but good luck.

Lol… I want change too. I just don't agree with some of the methods some people think will bring change and the assumption we should all join select courses.

I'll have a big smile if he walks... He needs to go, but we don't have the right to demand it.

There was a discussion on ABC Grandstand tonight about coaches under threat - Carlton coach, Deanes from the Wallabies and Sheens from the Tigers. Whilst with Sheens they did not say he is going it was more around should he go based on the performance this year and his overall tenure at the Tigers - they all agreed he should and maybe just coach Australia.

So it would appear that maybe this may get some traction, who knows.

Yeah Muffstar, i'd love for his performance to go under the microscope, let's hope the finals don't drown it out.

Paul Kent nailed Sheens on NRL on fox tonight. His mail was there has been a clause in the contract that should be miss the finals again that he coule be sacked. Wasn't sure whether that remained in the latest contract extension he got. He is under pressure guys, ill be very interested to see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

Ive been sitting on the fence the last few weeks thinking to myself if id rather Sheens stay or not, but Im still undecided. Im a big fan of him as a coach in regards to set plays and gameplans even if they havent been brilliant of late. BUT i can't stand his team selections and lack of guts when it comes to dropping out of form players. Adam Blair would be a dissapointmend even in NSW cup at the moment, Ayshford and Moltzen not too far behind, but they keep getting rewarded every tuesday arvo when the team is announced.
So yeh, maybe in a perfect world as far as im concerned, sheens coaches but the assistant selects the team!

Not only is the team stale, but so are the majority of the fan base. How this guy has so much pull and seemingly is in a position to walk away when he wants and hand pick his successor when he leaves is nothing short of a joke given his record at the club.

Personally I want change, but don't know if sacking sheens is the answer, sheens is a coach capable of re-inventing himself. Don't get me wrong I want sheens to get an absolute serve from the board but I would be ok If they gave Tim another year to see what he can do, if things don't change before origin next year then reassess the situation.

Betto I don't want to sound harsh , but he has had since Round 1 to reinvent the wheel

He did reinvent the wheel but square wheels are about as useful as a poopy flavoured lolly pop

Heres your options for change betto….

1\. Replace Sheens and his entourage for a new coaching and recruitment team

2\. Sack Marshal, Tuqiri, Heighnington, Blair, Ayshford, Moltzen and have a very stern talking to Lawrence and Galloway re: their futures at this club.

These are the only ways this club can move forward for mine. I personally choose plan no.1 as it will be less costly for starters, but more importantly I think most of those named players could turn it around under new coaching and direction.

Happy and Stryker I see your points and whilst I don't totally disagree I feel that given a full off season to reassess things and know that he is up the creek sheens will come up with some new plans that will put us back on the right track. This could be the kick up the kieber that sheens needs I am sure he is fully aware of what is being said about him and I honestly believe he will bounce back

This team appears to be on a downward spiral. I can't see much changing next year, and I can't see Humphries growing the onions to make a big call. More of the same next year sadly.
