Sack Sheens Thread

There's a risk Of course, but all good things come to an end and the reality is we've under achieved a lot since 2005… Sure we were building and may have missed a window to win a comp in 2010 and 2011 but we were always a 1 failure year away from the kinda pressure that's building from fans and media now.

It's now at the stage where could we be any worse with a new coach anyway ? Its more Likely we will see improvement as we are stale and many of our senior players need to hear a new voice... This could possibly allow the Robbie and benji era to win another premiership.

The issue may be finding the time to get the right person but even if it means an interim coach for 1 year I'd be ok if it meant getting the likes of Bellamy the year after... Sheens could even stay as a director if he really wants to remain and doesn't get lured by another team ie warriors. We just need a new head coach.

The bottom line for me is, sheens has been amazing for us, but it's now too risky to keep him when same failings have happened year after year and id rather semi rebuild or whatever now instead of having 2 more years of likely the same crap... I believe we have the talent to make the 8 and be up around the top 5 or 6 sides so a different voice may be all we need... The time is now ...

It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.

I'm sick of seeing this sh!t.
Anyone that says to let Benji go is not a Tigers fan. Period.

Thats strange cos i am a tigers fan, and a pretty passionate one at that. Might need to rethink that belief

Thinking about it pragmatically it would be the best for all concerned if Sheens and Benji both went to NZ. NZ get a marquee player in their home side to boost their image at home and a coach that would be perfect for them. We get a new voice in the ear of the likes of Lawrence, Ayshford, Farah, Woods and Galloway (which WILL help no matter what) and no longer have to build the entire side around the most inconsistent player in history.

Sheens is a DMW .
With guidance & a decent roster Benji is still an asset.
Next coach has to be a bottler!
Need new recruitment manager, strength & fitness & defensive coach too.
New Rozelle based Tigers Club would be nice!

Over to you Mr Humphreys & Board… :bulb:

Wouldn't be surprised if both Sheens and the board came to an agreement and he ends up at the Warriors. Would they have to pay him out if he got a full time gig somewhere else? that might make our decision easier. Never say never

Benji and Sheens at NZ. Sounds a legitimate option. And much more likely than any other proposals (Benji at. FB? JT at Tigers? not going to happen…)

Can we do a poll on who we would want as a replacement?

I wish Bellamy, he would be a dream - highly doubt it though.
I am really not a fan of Daniel Anderson or Brian Smith. Despise Gould and we have no chance of Bennett.
I am not a Chris Anderson fan either, but why does he never get mentioned?
Would prefer someone established, but if not what about Peter Sterling? I reckon he would be something.

_Benji and Sheens at NZ. Sounds a legitimate option_

Was thinking that too espec with Benji's Kiwi connection.
Main barrier would be Benji & his Ch 9 tv contract which is probably worth more than most NRL contracts

I have lost all respect for this man.

And the reason is his attempts to shift blame. Ive heard him say on at least 3 seperate occasions that if "robbie kicks that field goal then this is a non issue"….(thats paraphrasing).

I cant imagine Robbie being too happy about hearing that, not once, not twice but at least 3 times.

He will throw anyone under the bus to save himself and shift blame. I hope Robbie hasnt been tempted by Parra, because if he was, then something like this might just give him the nudge he needs.

At this point in time, I'd be desperate enough to consider Tommy R.

Was far from a good coach, but wouldn't be afraid to tell the underperformers to pull their heads in and have a go!

So far its been all about
1–Robbie missing the field goal
2--lack of quality depth
3--maybe support staff
4--video ref mistakes

Come on Sheens you can do better than that, walk into the bathroom and look in the mirror. Imagine if Robbie did kick the FG we would have maybe fallen over the line in eighth position in terrible form and got smashed out in the first week.

Mate the year has been diabolical

We'd have gone to 28 points and 9th…..he didnt stretch his excus...oops, reasons enough

Tackle 1: There is absolutely no way Tim Sheens should be in charge of the Wests Tigers next season after a devastating year that saw the pre-season favourites miss out on the finals altogether – another season of epic failure for a Tigers team that possesses one of the most talented rosters in the NRL. The typical excuses are already being wheeled out but the Tigers did not miss a lot from injury and they did not blood any great young talent. Sheens was behind the decisions to bring Tim Moltzen back and sign Adam Blair at the expense of Bryce Gibbs and Andrew Fifita. He cannot continue to live off the 2005 premiership. Sheens has gone stale at the Tigers and the club must look for fresh ideas as their premiership window is rapidly closing.

most talented or most over rated ….i know which one im starting to think

Woods would have been our only player that outplayed most of his rivals

Tommy would have oxen hearts hanging off dressing room doors , be slapping Robbie around in the dressing room and I honestly believe that if Benji played like he does on his bad days Tommy would lay him out at the back of the dressing rooms
