Payne, Galea, Gibbs and Halatau are on far more $$$ than you've listed.

Most of you would vomit if you found out what some of these players earn. It is a joke.

THANKS Steve Noyce

we pay our players far better than that…not even in the ball park!

and your proof is:

*________INSERT PROOF IN THE NEXT POST PLEASE_______*

Impossible…...It's Wests Tigers....I don't think they ever write anything down.....or they need a new accountant......

so in other words you guys don't actually know what the players get…

i don't either, but i don't think many players in our squad get over 200k

Ellis, Farah, Heighington, Galloway, Marshall, Tuiaki, Morris are ALL over $200K per season.
Lawrence is not far off the mark.

I dont think Lawrence would be on as little as 100,000.

Payten and Heighno should be between 100-150.

Galloway deserves 200-250 if only he can stay injury free.

Ellis deserves every dollar he's on.

How do third party sponsorships work? Are they included in the cap? ie does the contribution of the player's sponsor (from when the team is read out at the game) included in the $4.1mil?

And does anyone know if the cap is going to be raised for next year? Seems like the NRL has increased it $100k each year for the last few seasons.

Heighno is sitting north of the $250k mark. We had to offer him a fairly sizeable upgrade last year as he was almost ready to go over to the Dragons.

3rd party arrangements (as long as those companies are not current sponsors of the club) have the potential to be unlimited. there is a cap for payments to 'marquee' players where the sponsoring company is a current sponsor. outside of that the nrl doesn't want to limit what players and clubs can earn and so has allowed for the past few years that companies not currently sponsoring the club to be able to sponsor the players directly.

this is where souths is able to secure their signings on a lower base (craig wing and his 3rd party deals - which fell over - are an example) and arrange for companies to effectively top up their wage. it is the same reason why brisbane or the roosters / eagles can sign who they sign. it is easier for brisbane to arrange for sponsors as they have the whole of brisbane to gather sponsorship dollars (and the thoroughbreds). the roosters and eagles can have politis or penn / delmege use one of his myriad of companies or trusts to pay players as a 'sponsorship' (from memory Ben Kennedy was paid this way). the players need to prove to the salary cap auditor that they are working for these sponsors and so often do public speaking, commercials, etc.

it is harder in sydney to organise 3rd party arrangements because of the number of clubs. canberra were also very much against the nrl relaxing this rule as they felt they couldn't compete. david gallop confirmed all the above at the nrl members conference last year when i asked him the question.

And still no official release from Souths - methinks Rusty is telling porkys.

Waiting until the end of the regular Superleague season at least. Bradford can still make the finals and they want Burgess focused, no other distractions.

no chance of bradford reaching the playoffs, it would make life alot easier for everyone if he just signed with a club before the end of the season, if not its not fair on the bulls fans.

After watching lasts nights game over again, Sam Burgess would have to be a complete A grade dope to think he would rather play with Isaac Luke and Chris Sandow versus Benji, Robbie, Ellis and Galloway.

If he does go to souths, it'll only be for the dollars, so in the same vein, if he does take the money, he ain't the type of player I'd like at the club I support.

Message to Burgess. Have someone send you a copy of B Marshal in flight and tell me how that doesn't excit you.

Maybe Burgess wants to play finals football.

Well if he wants to plsy finals football he should be looking past Souths and Tigers, they're as bad as each other
