Same sex marriage debate...

I’m looking forward to Wednesay’s result.
80% turnout is fantastic, an affirmation of how the population feels about the subject. Everyone’s been given the right to have their equal say and at the end of the day we’ll have a better society

I’ve spent my whole life knowing that I’d never get married because it wasn’t even an option. As a result, I’ve never really gotten close to anyone.
Now that’s all going to change. Actually that’s a bit scary!

I hope it all changes. Let's wait until we see the result. I hope it's one sided for the "yes" side.

The Warren were having a hefty debate about the issue with the main mod there being a positive and being accused of deleting posts or something similar and the site was hacked, just shortly before our site was shut down as a precaution.

As I teach in chess how chess is similar to marriage - marry in haste and regret in leisure.

I'm very confident the Yes vote will win easily. I'm less confident that parliament will handle things well.

Agreed politicians got it wrong in the first place by not making a decision themselves.Waste of money electing them to make decisions.
I am sure that we wont have a say if the coalition sends off our troops to fight in another war

With the recent confusion, I reckon that they will get the country wrong!

The Coalition would be mad now not to act on it , would be a political death knell if they didn't and they'd lose my vote

And I hope all my gay and lesbian friends can do exactly what they want to do , many have been in long term relationships and deserve the same rights as their straight brothers and sisters

I feel sorry for the Bakers, they're going to go broke now because the gay community will boycott them now. Serves them right , although it probably means no more vanilla slices,or in Happys case ,no more pies

Gays don’t eat carbs anyway

Time for a pro-gay bakery named Masterpiece Bakery to open up and make a fortune - with creative products and names the world is at their feet.

Bugger , Watto , Geo , myself and all the other pie lovers were already planning on float for 2018

There's a terrific Bakery at Fernvale(I think it's called) , on the way out to Esk.
Has the greatest Apple pies. everything else is good as well.

I'm concerned that all my fears as a conscientious objector to the process (not the issue itself) are about to come true…..

Seeing that we have already known for some time that the community overwhelmingly felt this way, the only good result is that the ABS reckon they have come in twenty odd million under budget.

Warringah 75% in favour. What's it going to be Tony? Listen to the people you represent or do your personal beliefs come first?

On that note, the seats that voted no overwhelmingly are labour heartland but probably have many socially conservative people living there. Interesting times ahead. Might be a masterstroke from Turnbull, who has turned himself into a "Master bator" with his ineffective leadership.

If it gets to a vote in parliament, these labour members will have to vote yes, surely. I hope people don't care enough about the issue to vote out an incumbent on the basis of a single issue, but this is the risk when you ask the people to do the politician's job.
