Scotty Prince unwanted at Titans!

I would only have him back if about 50 -75 % of his contract was picked up by the Gold Coast Salary Cap ( I remember when we first got Todd Payten a lot of his money was paid under his old clubs cap). He is on the way down as far as I am concerned and I think both Lui and Miller are on the way up.

We can't afford Prince under our current salary cap so I would say pass.

Cheaper ticket prices at skilled park would be better as it costs $30 for general admission and $45 to sit on the sides then 9.20 for a feed and 20 cents for sauce.Watered down beer is $6.50 and coke and little bit of bourbon is 8.50.No wonder ive stopped going

Wow that is outrageous pricing.

That is crazy, especially with the Suns in their first year. League has a habit of shooting itself in the foot at times. This would have been the year to make sure families could get in to watch a game at an affordable price.

No sporting franchise has ever succeeded on the coast. I dont know why, they all have a very short life span. If the NRL want the Titian's to be a long term thing and they need a team in that area, they have to help them and getting the ticket prices down would be a start

Sometimes these clever type CEO's can be ignorant to results, and with the Titans having the 4th best crowd averages, some fail to look towards thier future revenue generation. I tend to agree that better pricing shouldve been a priority this year, but I also think the NRL couldve compensated Clubs like the Titans for offering such packages to compete with the rival code.

Someone mentioned earlier about Greenberg being successful. Boasting the highest crowd averages in Sydney (2nd in the NRL) is a great result for him. I have no doubt in 2-3 years, the Tigers and Humphries will eclipse the Bulldogs though. Our biggest problem will be ground capacity at the traditional homes…

I thought I would never forgive that boot polish haired mong Scattler for taking Boof and Princey from us.

After watching the Titans play this year I don't feel that bad about Prince.

Smeg I am pretty sure Laffranchi always had a get out clause if Gold Coast team ever eventuated
But agree when I see the Titans getting belted week after week I get a smug grin across my face

I agree the NRL should have been involved. The AFL would never let a club in a battlezone like GC fend for themselves. There should have been a publicity blitz. It's okay to charge good coin when you're going well and there is no competition but things have turned around pretty quickly.

I think the AFL will and the NRL should.

For the AFL there are lot of Victorians who have retired up on the Coast so they will always get good attendance at games.

For the NRL - someone really needs to look at the pricing of getting into the Stadium. I know people will say that you are paying for comfort, but you cannot afford that every other week - would rather stay home or watch it at the pub.

But like any team when they are losing a lot they also lose the support base too - hence this has also contributed to the really poor attendances this year.

I am not privy to what Bug and others were saying about their finances so not sure what is going on there either ?

Oh I forgot to add the $4.95 booking fee if you pre purchased your tickets.Last time I shouted my partner and it cost me almost $160 for a fatty feed and 4 spirits each sitting in general admission.Titans are a joke

Here's hoping they go broke!

Obviously some deeper issues at the Gold Coast that a lot of good people on here are annoyed at.

But back to Prince.

Scott Prince was great for us.He captained our first premiership team and put in 100% in 2006.

He left for family reasons.

Let him be.

Good luck to him in the future.I wouldn't begrudge him anything.

How about the **"brothers forever"** line Prince put out when he was "**negotiating**" whether to stay or go elsewhere….He knew all along he was going to the GC but he treated us like fools!!!...dont want a bar of him...he is looking for his retirement village...and it sure ain't the Tigers!

I agree eyewonder. He played his heart out with little quality support in 2006.

As for the negotiations, I can only assume that most of the knockers on here have never bought a car because what he did was just part of the normal negotiation that takes place in that type of transaction, as it does in many other financial transactions in life.

Can't remember if it was late 2005 or early 2006 but my best mate was on holiday in cairns and bumped into Scotty prince and had a chat to him about the tigers, Sydney and heading back to the gold coast. I wont go into what was said but From what he told my mate he had no intention at all of staying at the tigers regardless of what money they offered him

He left us to become the GC marquee player .He wasnt going to get anywhere near the money Benji was going to get .Scotty was great for Wests when he played for us ,why are some people dirty on him?
Do your sums ,unless he comes for free he is not breaking a 5 year contract just because he is not happy.
Its time to move on .

As much as I try, I just can't hate Scotty Prince !!

He should hold a special place in every Wests Tigers heart after 2005

But it does feel good knowing that Benji has surged ahead in leaps and bounds with the Tigers, while the coast are struggling to avoid the spoon.
