Could that ever happen mate?

Is the commissioner a set term or until his punted?
Highly unlikely to happen, it has been spoken about before. It would pretty much take all the NRL clubs to side together to remove board members.

They have set terms after which they must resign and be re-elected by the rest of the board. Commissioners have their terms end at different times to allow the rest of the board to re-elect them or choose someone else.

Wayne Pearce is the only original commissioner still on the commission after 10 years.

Man I can't wait until he goes unfortunately it seems noone cares about fans as they don't vote with their TV'S and fox seem to love him.

I guess fox is all you have to impress

Wayne is but a token

You might have avoided the answer mate.....
He talked about the costs for the club involved in hosting a game there.
It's always been that way...

People waffle (And it is waffle) on about playing at Commbank (Or ANZ / SFS back in the day)
It's like this.... And always been like this, As follows...

At the big stadiums, we get paid a decent amount of money - Walk in and Walk Out, No hassle, No fuss - No nothing.... Guaranteed return regardless of numbers.

At Cambo, (My favourite stadium - to be clear) It's much the same deal - We walk in and out, No hassle or expenses for the club...
But we never get the decent numbers consistently required out there to turn a decent profit.

At Leichhardt, They often get decent numbers required there to make a buck
- But the club has to do EVERYTHING!!
Hire the Big Screen, Pay for and co-ordinate Security and Traffic control - Everything!!
It's a big toll on the club to hold a game there - And a lot of man power goes into it.

The council there are taking the piss - Like when they bang on about how much they care about LO and it's upgrades.... They use it to sell themselves...
I was part of a discussion with an old CEO that was telling us that the Wests Tigers had to pay to upgrade the Parking and footpath around the oval / swim centre because it was unsafe....
The club has to carry the can to hold games there - They're not going to cop a loss on the chin, Those costs are passed on for the product to go ahead - Like any business.

For those reasons - My opinion has always been to just take the cash....
Get paid at the big stadiums, We still get decent numbers there.
I love Cambo, Made plenty of great mates there over the years, LO is LO... If that's your thing it does the job... Had a few beautiful Sunday arvos there as well.... Also had some shitty, Wet, Windy, Freezing Friday Nights....
Sounds like we’re sacrificing on field success for a few extra bucks. Wonder why we lose. A professional sporting outfit prioritises winning, increases its overall attendance and eventually sells out stadiums. Big picture thinking that doesn’t happen at WT.

Saw this on Facebook - funnily enough it was in the Wests Magpies supporters group but does highlight the lack of experience we have overseeing our Football Operations.

"Opening your eyes to how the Wests Tigers operate. They have a Football committee which is made up of 3 Wests Tigers directors. These people are the Directors in charge of football at the Wests Tigers and are above the Head of Football- Tim Sheens who is their employee.
The Chairman of the Football Committee is Danny Stapleton. Danny made the run on side twice in a 14 game career over 2 years in which Balmain came last and second last. 1993 & 1994.
His no. 2 & 3 on the Football Committee are Simon Cook and Rick Wayde. Not sure how many games they have played but Simon runs the Leagues club and Rick is a Wests committee man stalwart for a long time having help save the Magpies in the 1980’s…. These are the people who are primarily ultimately responsible and their performance needs to be assessed and scrutinised."
I see you reference a wests magpies supporters group ! Is there also a Balmain Tigers supporters group
Well here me hoping for both clubs to totally merge extinguishing the old clubs and all that remains is a powerful Wests Tigers .I can now see how impossible that is . Passions run deep and people will never release the past . So congrats our image problems will persist and we will struggle to recruit ! We might get the odd one or two by paying overs . This JV that never totally joined makes Pascoe and Tims job very difficult .I think we are headed for a run of bottom 4
I hope the Nrl is patient . Not sure the fans will be .

Really? it’s getting old mate!!

Those conversations were 3 ceos ago… and on the back of a premiership and a couple top 4 finishes…
We still needed to do it to survive back then.

If the crowds were ever going to get to the point where we didn’t need to do it - you’d think it would be on the back of winning the comp? No…
Maybe you need to face the reality that the club you support (or bag here everyday) and the one you supported before that - just aren’t as popular as they should be in your head?

From your posts - I can’t imagine there has ever been a time where you’ve ever been happy (or indifferent in the least) with anything the club has done? All you do is drive the boot in…
It’s hard to take you seriously these days, surely you’re just here clowning - because your endless posts on posts seem pointless to me!!

In my experience, We’re no more a chance of winning at LO or CSS than anywhere else…

In our 4 wins this year - how many were at either ground?

Benji has zero experience coaching but he’s nonetheless appointed head coach for three years.

You would be hard pressed finding anyone in the game with less claim to this critical position which is devoid of any merit other than a nod from Tim ( if that counts given his less than attractive approach to coaching vacancies).

This shocking and I think inept decision was sold to us as reintroducing DNA and other regressive nostalgic rubbish.

In the absence of leadership and commonsense at the most senior levels, there is little point taking a stab at the more junior underlings and minions.

The management of this club, in my own honest view, is utterly atrocious.

I will meet any allegation of defamation with a basic reliance on facts, truth and honest opinion.

Judging from publicity in the mainstream media including opinions given by former players I heave heard, our internal organisation is in very poor shape.

Our spoon was openly and unashamedly predicted by some here this time last year, largely predicated on the inability of shortcomings of our management.

The immediate future is that no one of any standing will take any responsibility. They will belt on and spin, that’s about it.
Only 17 head coach jobs and after sacking Madge, facing the reality of no better options, knock back after knock back, must have been demoralising for them?
Can’t imagine the stress they had to endure?
I know from personal experience, that a lot of good ideas come from a full bodied red in the later part of the evening, but it remains to be seen if this is one of them.

Thanks.

Last year Lee said he would stand aside if he believed he could no longer make a contribution.

Lees test for whether or not he can make a contribution is himself. He will decide his own value and no one else.

That was indulgent and may I suggest, came across as quite arrogant in my mind and honest opinion.

I do not think he is arrogant, but this mindset of “ I know better than you” doesn’t cut it when we come dead last and seemingly appoint mates over talent.

It may be that Benji has gotten used to so much personal worship he thinks players will do whatever he says.

He’s in for a rude awakening, the likes of which he’s never seen. Bellamy, Robbo, Wayne and co will eat him alive.

I predict thrashing after belting after thrashing and that’s what we are supposed to be looking forward to.

It’s a pity that people may associate our valued sponsors with our poor performances and antics off the field. We’ve really let them down.

What is Lee going to say to them?

All three should be out the door. They simply don't have the skills and experience to make the right decisions. And this has been proven, time and again.

They can stick to pokies and buffets

The board are ultimately responsible for the team’s performances.

The team has come last.

The board needs to own this outcome.

The above as well as the multitude of errors they have presided over, over an extensive period of time, leads me to conclude that in the bests interests of the club they should all step aside.

That is not defamatory, that is my honestly held belief.
Two posters that I have a lot of respect for being yourself @TSP and @mike have said very similar things.
I dont know if you are originally a Wests Magpies supporter [and it doesnt matter anyway] but it appears mike was a Magpies supporter, and some time ago he posted a very detailed view of changes that need to urgently be made re the Board. For a past Magpies supporter [Mike] to come out and speak his mind, and not speak in biased glowing terms re Our Board, together with Your view is enough evidence for me that something drastic needs to change re Our Board.
So well said TSP 👍

Thanks BZN, I have noticed and also greatly appreciated your support this season.

I suppose I am a unique fan in the sense that I joined the ranks of the Wests Tigers as a single entity through choice rather than compulsion..but the family footprint would be Balmain. That said, the Magpies component means so much to me now, that if we demerged, I could not in good faith wave a flag against them. Not even for Balmain.

We need change and given the convoluted and protective junta structure, the board itself needs to reconsider whether or not their continuing stewardship is in the clubs best interests.

It’s a sacrifice, but if they love the club as they purport to, they need to step aside. Nothing personal, the club is in very bad shape and they are ultimately responsible.

Like everyone else, Ive grown weary of the promises and spin. I’ve had my fill. I am whisker away from abandoning the game.

I care not for the finals, other than finding humour in the malaise, expected poor decisions from officials ( who are also unaccountable) that will determine outcomes.

To highlight the problem in the most simple terms
1. Our onfield performance is terrible and been getting worse
2. The prime cause of poor performance is our weak roster
3. Recruitment is difficult
4. Prime cause of recruiting difficulties is general nrl community view that WT is a divided club with a toxic atmosphere that doesn't represent any specific area
All above are FACTS
So I don't care whos on what board or committee it is also a fact that those in charge have overseen this corrosion .I don't see any plan to address this
Ps the words in point 4 above are not mine but have heard these comments from an extensive array of nrl personalities

I was a really loyal Balmain fan, sense 2000 I’ve severed my Balmain allegiance and I’m 100% Wests Tigers from then until they bury me.
