OFFICIAL SG Ball Cup

It’s a pretty young side this year isn’t it with most of the HM grads making the starting side. I’m encouraged by their commitment in D. That area is strong, there are some great individual attacking players and they were playing to that strength in this game, they should get a bit more fluent with the ball as the season goes on. Same goes for the HM boys, won on the back of defensive effort.
The kids in these two teams can change the tide for us. It’s good we’ve recruited about 5 or 6 top level first graders and on long term deals. The influence from them will be invaluable.

I'm always encouraged by Miller's keenness to take multiple hitups per set. Often takes the first and third/4th.

Was great to have talyn back, he makes a huge difference.

Not sure why our boys dropped the ball so much today. Matts started at 10 , wasn't that hot. Hopefully just a bad weekend and both squads knuckle down and work hard on the discipline.
“Wasn’t that hot” 🤔
Mate, I was on the sideline and it was oppressive.
Hot and extremely humid.
Both sides did well to hold it as long as they did.

For a team still missing 2 big players in kit Laulilii and Fa'agatu (who both were running up and down each of the sidelines offering encouragement, which was great to see) they were rarely troubled by Souths.
Didn't see the full game as I wanted to try see some of the NSW cup. But Da Silva was again very dominant. Saukuru was strong. But really the team just plays really well as a team. They defend well, they play for one another, they can grind but can also score points quickly. All things that are unusual for any team related to WT.

Anyone see the Balmain games? Anyone (other than Feledy) we think could make NRL one day? Hear Sukkar is a go-er but have never seen him.
Feledy is a strong ball runner, but at this stage of his career, I’m finding him very one dimensional. Playing against him, he’d be fairly easy to read - anytime he’s at dummy half, he’s running. Anytime the ball reaches him, he’s running. I’d hate to be his winger. Looks to me like he’ll end up in the back row.
