Shawn Blore #235

Seyfarth is still too small for his frame and needs to bulk up more. Otherwise he just gets pushed around too easily. He has more upside than Eiso but needs a year in the gym and playing CC to toughen up and get more power in attack and defence. He got his shot due to working hard, if he keeps working hard he'll get there in a year or two. But for now he's still a project, and not up for first grade.

You should’ve seen him last year... he’s twice as big as he used to be.

I know, I've been watching him for the last 4 years mate. Never seen a lot in him except for his extreme professionalism. That's why i still think he can make it, he works harder than any other player at our club. He'll bust his ass in everything he does. No he's not ready now, but he's had a taste and will keep working hard on his game. One of those less talented players that works hard and wins out in the long run versus the highly skilled but lazy player that disappears quickly.

Physically i think Blore is ahead of him, so should get Seyfarth spot on the bench. Blore's power in defence is something we need to help dominate the ruck more.

I think someone mentioned before about Seyfarth reminding them of Kyle Lovett. I'm starting to see the same, doesn't have much evasion skills so he gets smashed easily.

Hope I'm wrong but I don't see much other than a potential tackling machine.

You’re right and that’s why he was picked cause he worked so hard. Plenty of players have made careers doing the same but like you said would like to see Blore get a run soon.

We have had a few in that mould Matt Hyland, Shaun Spence, Kyle Lovett, Jack Buchanan and the king Daniel Fitzhenry...

Blore is still unknown, especially in regard to his recovery with his knee op .. 2 years ago he was ahead of the Donkeys David Fafita .. so if we slam him in first grade now .. it will be like playing russian roulette .. I hope for our sake he comes in and he brings the mongrel that our pack needs .. !!

He can't be any worse than Lawrence. He seems to have everything we lack, chuck him on the bench for the love of God

Disagree

How so?
Playing a mobile aggressive big man with a good engine?
Or you prefer proven failures?

Of course if he's not fully fit then you don't risk him. But as soon as he's good to go you throw him in there.

He's coming back from a major injury, still in rehab I believe.

I wouldn't risk playing him straight into the NRL and there is nowhere else to play him at the moment.

Wouldn't like to see him end up like Ryan James.

Came out of rehab the same time as Packer who hadn’t played for over a Year...

Only player before yesterday’s game in rehab is Liddle..he is also close to returning to full training

Well I wouldn't be playing him this year if was up to me.

Good thing it's not then. Since when does a player need two years off after an ACL? No complications. Been back in full training for weeks. He's fit, not match fit, but physically he's apparently good to go.

Of course if he's hesitant in training at all then give him time. If he's dominating in training then give him a run. Will offer more than Lawrence and Seyfarth.

If he is fit, fully recovered and has the confidence to want to play now, why wouldn't you give him a shot.

If you don't know - don't worry mate, just play him, every game . hope he does well.

What about forum legend Nathan Milone

Shawn Blore will officially become Wests Tigers Player #235 tonight when he makes his first-grade debut against the Parramatta Eels.

The 19-year-old has been named as a late inclusion on to the bench for Thursday's Round 11 clash against the Eels — becoming the fourth player to make their NRL debut and the 10th player to make their club debut for Wests Tigers this year.

Blore joined Wests Tigers earlier this season after being granted an immediate release for the Penrith Panthers, with whom he played his junior football.

A junior representative standout, Blore joined the club with strong credentials after captaining the Panthers' SG Ball side to a National Championship title in 2018 before achieving success with the NSW U/18’s and Junior Kangaroos later that year.

Capable of playing either second row or lock forward, Blore cuts an imposing figure for a teenager — topping the scales at 108kg and 191cm tall.

Wests Tigers would like to congratulate Shawn on his NRL debut!

Good luck to the kid, hope he slays it but it's one hell of a scenario for him to make his debut.

Last 3 NSW under 18s Captains

Cameron Murray, Payne Haas and Shawn Blore

If he ends up anywhere near those players I’ll be over the moon
