Cmon isn't Sheens the master of all things Wests Tigers…....
Plenty on here will tell you he's solely responsible for the failure of the last 4 Years......

1 in 7 @ the semis is the record as it stands.
I agree Semi footy is the waterline at the very minimum, however there have been mitigating factors the greatest of these being squad depth post 2005.
2010 is a no excuses year.
Plenty of depth on both the playing roster and support staff fronts.

I actually thought after 05 when we signed Ohara,Lolesi & galloway(& one other,,cant remember name)we were in for a Tigers dynasty ..still cant believe what has happened.
As for outlasting 3 CEOs,I feel very very sympathetic towards Longmuir who was simply trying to do his job,but significantly underestimated the reach of the tentacles of the incumbent coach.
Frankly the Board was disappointing (to say the very least..I cld think of much stronger words!)in not supporting him into at least a compromise situation .
It wldnt surprise in the least to see the very same Board back Sheens one more time,regardless of results.If thats the case,& we fail in 2010 & still get stuck with Sheens for another 2 yrs(aarrrgh!)then maybe we need a new Board AND a new coach asap

Took Panthers to first semis.
Took Raiders to first of three premierships.
Coached about a million games.

I don't know why people keep comparing our last 4 years to how things were before Sheens came. Sure things are better now but it couldn't be much worse than the early days.

Ultimately I am happy with our one premiership under Sheens.
I take it as badly as anyone when we don't make the semis every year, but the truth is I waited 25 years to see a Tigers premiership team and T Sheens is the man who made it happen. If you were to tell me that we will win the comp this year then miss out on the semis for another 6, I'd accept it right now.
His time will eventually come to an end, but the team is in good condition and we can potentially win every game, so I can't see any reason to hook him when there are no clearly superior alternatives.

I have seen and felt the anguish of GF Losses.I almost died in 89 as a very young tiger in a family of 400+ Dragons.
The exileration on Oct 2nd, 2005 is one that I rank higher than my wedding day (Dont tell Mrs Spartan). We are all blessed to have experianced that victory. I am in debted to Tim Sheens forever for helping guide the team of unliklies to my premiership.

I hear the Wests Tigers could be about to sign Sheens for another THREE YEARS…
Well …...with all the player signings appearing complete for 2010 the next obvious move would be to shore up the Coaching position for 2011....

3 years is a joke when we haven't made the top 8 in 4 years. We should atleast wait mid season and then if we are travelling well sign him but only make it for 1 more year and keep going like that.

Iam sure son of big Kev would be smart enough to have some clause in any contract, that would have Sheens deliver some minimum postion in 2010\. After the last four years I dont think they will be throwing him a contract with no strings attached to it.

SINCE winning the premiership in 2005, Wests Tigers have promised much and delivered little. Now coach Tim Sheens is hoping a new-found attitude will propel the club from underachievers to contenders once again.
"Our theme this year is to go from full-time to professional," Sheens said.
"We've got to be a little tougher, a little bit more consistent and some of the strategies that we're planning to do in that area will give us that.
"You've got to win games rather than look good in games sometimes, so there's an element of us having to be a bit stronger in some aspects of our discipline.
"Preparation will beat talent most days, so we need to be a lot better prepared."
Tigers hooker Robbie Farah said the team was fed up at having not played finals football since winning the title.
"Obviously, we're trying to find that reason why we've missed the semis the last four years," Farah said.
"I guess sometimes you call yourself a full-time footballer but you don't act professional, and we've just said we want to be more professional in everything we do.
"Winning starts at training and how you prepare. We just want to be professional in everything."
Regardless of how the team performs in 2010, the Tigers have already held talks with coach Tim Sheens about staying on.
Having guided the team since 2003, Sheens is contracted until the end of the year. The club hopes to have a new deal sealed before the season starts on March 12.
Sheens acknowledged that the roster was one of the strongest he had been involved with during his time at the club.
Farah and five-eighth Benji Marshall will spark the attack while Keith Galloway, Todd Payten, Bryce Gibbs, Gareth Ellis and Chris Heighington form an imposing pack.
Fullback Tim Moltzen and centres Blake Ayshford and Chris Lawrence are now established first graders and the backline will be bolstered when former Wallaby Lote Tuqiri arrives after completing his commitments with English rugby club, Leicester.
"We've been experimenting with some new ideas and we'll have a slightly different look to our game," Sheens said.
"If the injury gods and the video referee and the shape of the ball do the right thing, then we'll certainly have the right attitude.
"We'll still be a side that can score points but we had 15 less tries scored against us last year than we've had since I've been there, so I'd like to better that again.
"That will win us those close games this year."
