Sheens future Safe at Wests Tigers

A prop would be good, picking the right team would be better,I actually like the way Brown coaches,he would excell here,I would be giving Sheens at least a month to prove his worth, there are plenty of coaches who would take us on now Humphry's has got us going forward.

A small story in the Sunday Tele mentioned that the CEO would be bringing up the re-signing of Sheens at a board meeting this week, they're a bit worried about Russell Crowe stealing him! As Benji is about to sign up forever, I'm guessing it's a done deal.

what a dumb club we have
you would think after missing the finals 4 years straight we would at least wait half the year to see how the side sheens put together does, but things arent looking good with Brown at fb a back on the bench and fitzhenry starting :unamused:

Part of the reason they are racing to sign sheens is because souths are after him.

I dont mind the club resigning Sheens with Humphries in charge.

We are moving forward and sheens has hinted at Moltzen being halfback because he doesnt want to rush Lui.

I take that as Sheens knowing Moltzen should be in the halves.

Fear less fellow Tigers supporters.. Sheens will make the right decisions.

At the end of the day, the contracts clauses will be in favour of the management, if Sheens does not step it up this year, he will be held accountable and management will make the correct decision. I have full faith they will.

they arent gonna sign him to a big contract and than fire him half way through the year for not performing,if he stays he will stay long term it wont matter if we make the finals or not

This club has been a work in progress for many years now. from the day Tim Sheens was signed and he set up the concord facility from scratch.

As more $$$ has flowed into the back office, training and medical operations have been slowly built up.

Sheens deserves to al least have a crack at the premership with a club he has guided from virtually nothing.

Great decission that all our star players back… And they should know..

Bwhahaha, Sorry, but that is the funniest thing I have read here in a while.

Does anyone here **not** believe that Tim Sheens is the best Coach that the Wests Tigers has had?

Senexx - i'm a sheen fan (not his team selections though) but your logic needs exploring:

just because he's the best out of the 3 we've had doesn't mean that there isn't a better one out there now or in the future.

I don't blame Sheens for our poor history. I blame Benji Marshall for 06, 07, 08 and 09.

He just isn't that good. He isn't worth the coin he's on just to pull out massive plays every now and then. His contract is holding us back. And in the case of previous years we had big bucks sitting on the sideline.

That said, if we managed to get someone like Thurston, Soward or even Pearce on board to play alongside Benji. The team would be light years better.

 On the very day we sign BENJI 4 LIFE…..someone starts a Sheens thread.....

Ying and Yang.....

@Benji Marshall said:
Marshall said he was proud to become a one-club man.

“This club has looked after me from the very beginning when I was a young schoolboy at Keebra Park High and have been very loyal to me through the good times and the hardships.

“The Wests Tigers are like family to me. **Tim Sheens has played an enormous part in my development not only as a rugby league player but as a person as well.**

While results are Super important…I defy anyone to say that Sheens is not an assest to the Club.....when it comes to identifying talent and making sure he keeps them....

The trend though seems to be anything good>>>Humphreys.......Rubbish>>>>>Sheens

But ur saying Benji isnt that good… u just pointed all those positions are 7s... so wouldnt it be the fault of the 7 and not Benji...... If benji had a decent 7 it wouldnt be his fault.. would it

Geez - this just sounds ignorant to me.

Yes he has had a lot of injuries / yes he has had his bad games. Last year though he was our best player imo by miles and was one of the best in the comp. Farah went missing at times last year but for some reason he doesn't cop it.

Prior to last year he won us plenty of games - yes not great seasons but it wasn't all his fault.

Wasnt it Sheens philosphy when Longmuir got sacked that its a football club, not a business?

If its run like a club, then results should be the number one priority.

If that is the case, then doesnt that mean Sheens does not deserve a contract extension?

Absolute stupidity by the club if Sheens is re-signed before the season starts. This is a results business and he has not delivered in four years.

Looks like its a "done deal",but re-signing Sheens without any 2010 results consigns the past 4 years results to the "simply bad luck"category…which it certainly wasnt
Im really surprised at & disappointed with Humphries
I dont think signing an injury prone player for life is exactly a stroke of genius either,no matter how good he may be(& he is not consistently THAT good)

they need to extend sheens coaching tenure as soon as possible. He is the axis of Wests Tigers. He we some of us believe that team selections suck, so do I, but for the betterment of our club he needs to be there. Results will come soon. I see the last four years as rebuilding and a bit unlucky, but i think this year will be the year thats puts to sleep a little of the last four years. I say look at the big picture - look at our team this year for example. If Dallas Johnson didnt throw a spanner in the works we would of had Jeff Lima as well. Who will we buy next year? I think Sheens hasnt been perfect but his foundations are rock solid and its only starting to pay off now.

No one has done more for the Wests Tigers than Tim Sheens.
The club was a basket case before he came along.
The players like him and he has attracted some high profile players.
Ok we haven't made the 8 for a few years but I have always been proud of my team since he has been at the helm unlike 2002 when I was ashamed to be a wests tigers supporter.
We need a rock solid coach and we've got one.

I am not against Sheens resigning and if there was a coach who was better then lets look at him. IMO, there is Bellamy, Bennett and I would add the NQLD coach and for the life of me his name escapes me.

But first and foremost would these guys want to come, maybe now that we have resigned Marshall and have Lote on board.

If Crowe is after Sheens he can see that he has something to offer, and I think we should also try and see that.
