Perhaps not but you have to wonder what McDonnell was telling the board ect they seemed to be very confident it was there to be done. I'm guessing McDonnell had a fair relationship with Issac Moses and was getting played like a fiddle, the key point then becomes the flow on effect how many others did we miss because we were holding our cards for Moses. Now we are losing Brooks on the back of it another Moses client, wouldnt be surprised to see Brooks turn up and a heavily slanted Moses club like manly.
I would be my bottom $ McDonnell was moved aside not sacked because of the Moses situation, I dont want a recruitment guy to dominate how this club is run especially a sub par one like McDonnell we should never have been strong armed into re employing him in the first place, now he's thrown his toys out of the pram and whispers of Sheens doing the same. But in all this not a word from Benji or Robbie something isnt adding up, also i have to add i think Pascoe and Lee should have been upfront with Sheens Re the Fulton appointment irrespective of what he thought of it still should have been in the loop. The only thing i will caveat that with is if it was as delicate of an operation as we are led to believe maybe Sheens and McDonnell could have torpedoed it through the media, which wouldnt surprise me.
Sorry Telltalis most of this response has little to do with your comment i just couldnt stop once i got going 🤣
I think your pretty close to the money

Huh, surely if one couldn't make deals when offering overs it would be even greater a reason to make a change.
If that were anywhere near an accurate statement which was followed through in practice, then why is Hagipantelis and Pascoe still here?
We’ve always offered overs even with our CEO and Chair doing the recruiting.

They have maintained support of the board and have made another change to the recruitment department.

Great post btw

Those two agenda’s are unrelated. You think Lee’ll sack himself?

I think it is more a case that with Sheens being the head coach with added responsibility of developing the next coach, he doesn’t have the time to focus on the much needed roster building work we have ahead of us.
WT for better or worse recognised this and got someone they believe has the right skills and connections to take that burden off Sheens.
Sheens can’t be Head of Football, Head Coach, Coaching Development Officer, Head of Recruitment etc all at once, there isn’t enough time in the day.
Very busy man Sheens, no wonder he didn't have any time left in his day for Pascoe and Gadget to mention something trivial like Fulton coming to Wests Tigers to him.

Mate - at this point I think most West Tigers supporters are trying to figure what the hell is going on - me included. The constant disappointment and another season over is just about doing my head in - so no apologies necessary.

😂 no I don’t, even though he offered to resign if it could be proved that either he or Pascoe were contributing in anyway to the poor on field performance.
I think Cavanagh May have taken up the challenge and as a result, lost his membership.
It would appear that elected members don’t understand they need to toe the line. 😂

Lee pretty much bank Rolls WT by the looks of things.

My guess is that there’s a master plan to get rid of Sheens and Benji.

Fulton with get Des (likely), and the club might have success in the short term term and be back to the same old basket case in 7-10 years.

Sheens would build a culture of success, Lee wants success but doesn’t know how to build it long-term. He’s had success in businesses, but clubs aren’t the same.

To add to this, Brooks, who would have stated a one-club man, a guy who has been the whipping boy for far too long, has dealt with tweedle-dee and tweedle-dumb at the negotiating table and wants out.

What a club we support…

Iam really surprised that people actually think the recruitment manager wields a lot of influence over the club and is working independently to the coaching staff.

Sheens would be telling Fulton what sort of players he wants and Fulton would then try and source these players. Okay because he came from Manly he has good contacts there but he would also be looking everywhere else. When push comes to shove its Sheens and Benji that decides who comes to the club.

Big Mac was pushed aside because of the way MMs negotiations panned out
Fulton runs the list hire's and fire's and Sheen's is the coach now total power shift

Sheen's is employed to coach Fulton's list of players and with Mac there he signed who Sheen's wanted

If Fulton and Sheens can work together great but this was obviously a power play between Lee and Sheen's lee needs to be the big guy

Iam not doubting you but what NRL coach would work under that framework. Might be wrong but I would have thought all NRL coaches would have the final word on rosters.

If your right there might be truth in the rumour Sheens is not happy and might walk

Scott Fulton is a better recruitment manager than McDonnell. Sheens is a caretaker coach grooming Benji. I have more faith in Fulton to acquire players not sure how this is even a discussion. It’s a smart move in my view. Not offering Brooks more than an ever age salary is already the first good sign.

Surely not. They are 1/2 a season in for a 5-year plan. Whatever it is, it wouldn't be about removing Sheens and Benji.
It may be around ensuring some independence & governance from a boys club forming.
Exactly.

They won't out Benji. They may or may not out Sheens, and to be honest he has not performed as well as we would have hoped. They have commited to a 5 year plan with Benji and I reckon that is still going to happen.

What the Board however have done is go "were not putting all our eggs in the one basket, if Sheens keeps delivering a big Suck! Others here are going to be able to advise and take over. We want you to succeed Tim, but you need to give us success if you want the power."
