We’re winning - Sheens has turned the team around

There are no winners in this
Imagine being upset at a future where our team has turned around. There would be multiple winners in that scenario:
1. Sheens
2. US, THE FANS
Well , he’s the head of football . Do you want him to magically turn also ran footy players into the Raiders of the 90s in half an off season ? .
What’s as predictable is that after 7 games, and we are 1 and 6 , there will be calls to axe sheens . Which really when you do the maths is like 5 months in the job .
I’m not pro or anti anyone , except bandwagon jumping and scapegoating. If Madge doesn’t at least break even next year , he’s gone .
And I don’t think he would be able to honestly be too upset about it . Really his whole job comes down to whether he has a higher than 50% win share .
I don’t care if we win 40% of games if the team is giving a whole hearted effort week to week. That’s step 1 for Sheenius and co. Now bring on a few decent signings.

I love the backing of Sheens ....but Don Furner and Wayne Bennett handed Sheens a champion side remember
He did amazingly well with that side and attracted some great Kiwi talent in Wiki ,Ponga and Lomax ......but the club was doing very well before he showed up ......

Yea totally . It was very similar of an approach to now where they’ve based thier strategy on Englishmen . They focused on Queenslanders in the 80s , recruited the nucleus of the team , and built around them with kiwis and local / country talent .
They players were there , but the strategies and game plans were all him . But you’re right c, it’s all for nought if the players can’t execute .

Thats the key to next year's performance.
We have enough talent to at least be very competitive. It's up to the players to buy in.
Last year only a couple did.

100% agree with you guys here. If each individual is prepared to work hard at whatever it takes to train and play at their best each and every week then we have enough football talent in our squad to win more than half our games. This means every player putting in for each other and playing as a team. Attitude and desire is such a huge part of winning and our guys need to want it a whole lot more than they showed last season.

Hull Kingston Rovers
In September 2016 it was announced that he would join Hull Kingston Rovers for season 2017 and beyond. In Sheens first year at the club, he coached the Hull Kingston Rovers in their promotion back to Super League campaign of 2017. After 2 years at Hull KR, Sheens was sacked due to poor league position, form and loss of 'the dressing room' (implying player support) on 5 June 2019.
Widnes Vikings
On 13 Oct 2020 it was announced that Sheens had resigned as club head coach due to a falling out with management over staffing.
I'm brimful of confidence. NOT!!!

It's a freakin' gravy train, for Timmy and McDonnell and Marshall, instigated, aided and abbetted by Chairman Mouth, the hapless Pascoe and a clueless Board.
