Sheens will make a big impact right across the organisation....people who have followed the WTs since inception understand that the turmoil within was what got him sacked...he is now in a new environment and is respected by many, many people...
Maguire will benefit greatly from Tim being there, the pressure valve will be released from a coaching point of view that Madge doesnt have to look over his shoulder anymore and can do his job without interference....Sheens will be at hand IF Madge requires some advice...
A fantastic year ahead overall...

When Tim was sacked, it was well and truly time for him to go.
He was making crazy decisions that lasted for years after he left.
Support him, but keep one eye on him.

You maybe right Tuck...but ask yourself why he was making bad decisions...pressure from the factional inhouse fighting.?...we need to keep an open mind and why he has been asked to come back now that WA and others have solidified the organisation as a whole....

I think he’ll do well as management, he is already making an impact that guys like Hartigan could only dream of.
Use his standing in the game, his connections, his experience to bring talent in to help raise the homegrown lads.
Leave the coaching to Madge and his assistants. If he fails, he gets replaced.

Gardiner takes over if Madge is replaced no one better available on the market as coach

We’ve tried everyone else. May as well give the gardener a crack. Would make Pascoe’s doco more entertaining.

I have been looking at Sheens back at the Tigers from another perspective,Im glad he is back to help the club reach better heights than the last 9/10 seasons...
Tim and Madge have been friends for a long time apparently, and although we are made to think that Sheens wont have anything to do with the NRL team as far as coaching goes, and he probably wont from the clubs point of view, but,if he is a mate of Madges and has seen the difficulty in the job Madge has had to do with the youth, the co called losing the dressing room rumours etc,my opinion is that in the background, how do I know Tim being the guy he is ,doesnt invite Madge over for dinner or beers a couple of times and gives him ideas and tips on approaching his coaching style that would suit the team...we have to remember he knows a heap about rugby league and although some of his earlier selections when he was here first were called SHEENIUS,he still won a premiership with a very youthful team a team lacking Origin or international reps..
Just my thoughts and I think we will see a different type of style,a more aggressive type of play as well as exciting movement of the ball...we have to remember we had lots of players that were still learning and we had injuries to key players that had to be replaced by youth as well...I feel more enthusiastic about season 2022 than I did about last year...cheers guys go the WTs..

Lets see what Sheens thinks of the Ebbs and Flows in 2022.

Sheens' coaching career has been one of ebbs and flows. Mostly ebbs recently.

Yea, but wrong way to look at it.

Sheens brings stuff too the table:
His playbook/try scoring ideas are near unique. Sheens will have thought of more plays.
Sheens is a good player mentor. He can help steady people and get talented signings.

Where Sheens lacks:
Discipline. We never got truly good consistency from Sheens while he was here.
Work ethic, Sheens worked hard but is no Bellamy.

I think this is where Sheens + Madge + Cayless will work well.
Madge will work the players hard, much harder then Sheens would. Sheens will upgrade Madge's attacks, expect more tries. Cayless will add grit too our forward pack, we have been missing this a lot!

The big gap to my mind is defensive structures. I expect our intensity in defense to get better but we have always lacked solid structure as a team in attack and defense. No good if we are making massive tackles and Nofo is caught again on a 2-1 overlap. Structure also takes time.

Lets see what 2022 brings.

Brooks will have the best benefit if Sheens being back, sheens will get him plating what he she's a bit more and giving him confidence like Ivan cleary did with him

I hope Gardiner gets the chance to voice his ideas, the sides he"s coached looked very fluent and comitted.

Shhh we aren't allowed to say that. I hold him responsible for the club's (brief) ascension and rapid decline.

Not opposed to giving him a chance in the new role, but personally I can't forget what happened from the end of 2011.

Sportsday Radio Tim Sheens interview https://media.whooshkaa.com/show/10761/episode/936569.mp3

The first word of the link could well be his greatest contribution to our WT as the way the club is received and reported both by and through the **media** is very important on many levels.

Oh, and thanks for providing it.

Sheens has been unbelievable since walking into the building. whole feeling around the club has changed and that can't be a coincidence. having him, Robbie, Benj, Skando, Galea in the building ensures the Wests Tigers DNA is alive and well inside the walls. may it continue.

I'd rather fail with these people involved than with nobodies without any affiliation to the club.

Sam Burgess podcast with matty Johns in an interesting listen touch on Maguire a bit afew things stand out

Back when he first started at souths and up until they won the GF coaching styles were different where EXTREME training was more normal. Sam made a comment, Maguire was good at getting him play injured and getting everything out of him. Things have changed now and think the game cannot be as extreme as they were back then.

Another thing when Burgess mentioned he quit to go to rugby. While he did not point the finger at madge, he did mention a culture in "sydney" where people like to blame each other, there was team discontent the year they won the GF.

The difference between madge and sheens coaching methods?

I think madges coaching methods are outdated, does not account for the squad in front of him and not geat for team culture.

Sheens I see as the opposite in some respect, he's coaching brings teams together, creating better culture and methods that have more sustainability and worked since jack Gibson days.

Results speak for them self Tigers desperately need a bloke like sheens at the club.
