So is he on a bloody plane yet or what?

Sheens is poised to return to Australia within seven days after signing a deal to link with the Tigers until the end of 2024.

He needs to come back ASAP. We need to get to work now for 2022. No rest for us, we dont deserve it

Pre Season starts Nov, He will have plenty of time to have an input especially if 2022 Game 1 doesnt go too well

I saw a report he's on a flight on the 21st of October ????

Surely the club will let us know when he is landing .....many on here want to genuflect and kiss his feet at the airport

He’s already on his way, he started swimming a week ago.

Already setting the standard ?

Tim Sheens will reportedly have total power over the Wests Tigers’ football operations after his role with the club was expanded.
Sheens is expected to arrive to Australia from England by the end of this month after it was announced in June that he’d be returning to the club he coached to the 2005 premiership.
The 70-year-old was originally signed as head of performance, howeverNews Corp reports that he inked a three-year, $1 million deal to be director of football at the Tigers after his role had increased over recent months.

As per the Tigers’ announcement in June, Sheens’ original role included supporting the pathway development and planning, recruitment, football administration and club culture.
The former Kangaroos coach will now oversee all of those elements as part of his expanded role and coach Michael Maguire and head of football Adam Hartigan will report directly to him.
The official deal comes after the club confirmed in September that Sheens would move into a new role.

“Tim will be far more actively engaged within the NRL team and football department than was originally envisaged,” Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis said at the time.
“He will be an incredible resource and utility to the organisation and to the football department, in particular.
“His role is tantamount to a director of coaching role but Tim, to the extent necessary, will largely define his own role. He is entitled to do that. The man has coached over 700 first grade games.”
According to News Corp, Sheens had been in talks with the Tigers for some time but held off from signing the new deal until he knew the ins and outs of the expanded role.
He is currently quarantining in England, where he’s been based since 2018 due to coaching gigs with Salford and Widnes, but is expected to return to Australia within the next week.

With Sheens locked in and Maguire’s immediate future settled after a tumultuous period during the club’s internal review, the Tigers are focusing their attention on signing an assistant coach.
2016 premiership-winning coach Shane Flanagan has been linked to the job, as has ex-Roosters assistant Nathan Cayless and highly-rated Eels NSW Cup coach Ryan Carr.

I dont understand the drama with Sheens and a job title. Who gives a rats ring a ding ding. I will bet 1000/1 he knows what he has to do, and I bet the club knows, and I suspect we know what he is doing too.

Why the hang up about a ******* job title?

I hope everyone gets out of his way and lets him do what he does best irrespective of his title.

What does he do “best”?

#Educate kids how to play footy the right way.
#Identify talent in junior grades and know when they are ready for first grade.
#Change the style of our under 12 playbook that Madge has us playing.
#Identify what players are required to improve our squad.
#Have influence on potential new signings.
# Bring through and give confidence to our next crop of kids that are the future of this club.

How do you know he can do this, he hasn't been in the country for 10 years?

I guess time will tell, but I'm pretty sure that having Sheens back in the organization will prove to be beneficial for Wests Tigers.

The guy lives and breathes footy and I'm pretty sure he's still got something to offer.

For all his innovation, Sheens has an average record and will have been out of the NRL for 10 years next year. We have given the keys to our club to a fanboy, and his idea of success is bringing back his best memories.

Is Fitzhenry available to cover the centres next year?

Champion @Harvey, mate I think that's a bit harsh.
Rarely ever does a team have someone as part of the football department who has won 4 premierships as a coach.
Age is experience - just look at Bennett.
Besides, Sheens is not the coach - he is in a new position overseeing all things footy.
It's like our Wests Tigers Navy has just scored itself an aircraft carrier.
Yes, I know, I live in perpetual hope.

Take out his record at Canberra and Sheen's record is ordinary. From 2005-2012 we had a premiership roster. In 7 years we made the semis 3 times. Yes glory days for us, but unacceptable for a successful club.

Sheens is not the messiah, he is not going the club around. He is a short terms feel good story that further muddies the water around who is accountable for ongoing failure.

Maybe wants to set some players up with housing?

Let us not forget we wanted Sheens gone .. his brain dead selections every week ect ect , I do not have a short memory.
I very much doubt he is the saviour that everyone hopes but it’s stability that I do like and his presence around the place with the younger players should be a big positive also good for the corporates they love rubbing shoulders with dudes like Sheens a pretty positive move .. I was wondering what office Pascoe will be using ? When the big kahuna arrives 😂
