Should/Will RF get his Leichhardt farewell given we are out of contention?

Play both Dene and Robbie for a final Leichhardt farewell.

JT has talked up how he has changed our defence. Only Newcastle has worst defence in 2016, 6th worst defence in 2015, not seeing improvement our defence is 31 points better with 2 games to go, I am seeing it going worse.

Can we stop talking about Robbie and start talking getting rid of JT

shows what happens when the most consistent tackler is tackled himself - so predictable

We're all assuming he's going
According to him he may not.
It's all a bit presumptuous.
But if he does leave, and doesn't get a farewell…. It would be a shame because this is what club cultures are built on.
In 14 years time... 2030 when it's the 25th anniversary of our maiden comp and they're doing reunion things... It would be good if everyone was coming back solely with great memories... Unfortunately we have too many leave on bad terms it seems... High profile. Ones at least

It is sad that so many at this club have been pushed out, Benji, Beau, Gibbs, Heighington, the list goes on, our intial treatment of Tuiaki and Dwyer wasn't great. I know football is business, but the club needs to treat people with respect.

On a Farah farewell, as ink said, lets make sure he is leaving before we give him a farewell.

No and No.

No Player is bigger than the team - Ever.

I'd deadset rather Jason Taylor himself come in and play hooker if need be - At least he has the whole team and clubs best interests at heart.

Could be a good chance to get another game under Jacob Liddle's belt for next season.

Thinking of the future.

Of course you are, knowing full well that Liddle cant play FG again this year. You are all heart.

I agree mate. But you need to temper your blatant dislike of Farah. I hope Robbie moves on and is appreciated wherever he goes.

He deserves a farewell as will Lawrence when his time is up. So sit back and chill.

I'm not the only one whose said no. My dislike for Farah is no more blatant than others dislike for Taylor.

Yet you stamp your feet about personal vendettas against Taylor and calling it out of bounds.

Yep no arguements from me on the Farah and Taylor discussions. The sad thing is the forum now is a cesspool it used to be fun coming on here and reading peoples opinions, now they are vile.

Anyway lets hope things get settled one way or another.

I think Farah lost a lot of people (myself included) when he bagged out our club to the media. You just don't do that, and I wouldn't blame anyone for having a blatant dislike of him after that.

I think what makes it harder to stomach RF or his farewell,is how he has handled these last episodes with the media, especially to a club that has given him so much over so many years, granted he has also given to the club, but he has had abundantly more input than other captains of other clubs…

TT, I can understand that but the other side of the fence sees it that JT threw a decent chance at the finals away just for the sake of getting rid of a very consistent player. I don't think Robbie ever pulled the team down on the field and the detrimental episodes you mentioned were only after the gate was locked for stupid reasons. We have all been over this 5,000 times.

BBF,JT is the coach,he selects whoever he chooses in the team, many other players have been dealt the same cards and have moved on…As for the finals chance, maybe or maybe not, nobody can be certain,we really weren't a finals contender at the beginning of this season considering the youth and inexperience in our team, however JT has done a good job getting them this far......

Not far enough considering our roster !

It says a lot about where we've been taken as a club when so many people are vehemently against the biggest player this club has produced being allowed one last game at the home ground he treasures most (let's not kid ourselves).

If in all likelihood the game is a dead-rubber, what are the drawbacks?

We will sell the joint out, get a load of positive press, make a lot of money no doubt, and if JT was to swallow his pride and pick him, he (JT) would surely increase in the minds of Robbie fans for giving him his rightful farewell. We can't bang on about getting ready for next year, because Halatau won't be there next year & Tedesco won't be playing.

I think we're seriously underestimating the impact these events will have on the future contract decisions of the key players we want to keep at our club (Moses, Tedesco, Woods, Brooks). If they continue to see someone who has given everything & a little more to this club shafted aside & totally disrespected because a new coach doesn't like his style of play, are they going to view that positively? Absolutely not, and when the decision comes about sacrificing some money to stay with us or going to another club, that will be in the back of their minds - "if WT could do that to Robbie, what is stopping them do that to me?"

I am not sure about the coaching success and the youth and experience. Brooks was a top junior and he tackled like a powder puff most of the season, there were missed attacks galore on his side for about half the year. He showed me stuff I can't recall seeing in FG before - that is the tackler from behind ending up on their own bum with the runner unimpeded. Those tackling faults should have been remedied within a few weeks in the off season. I was ever had one lesson on how to tackle and I never missed anyone - even the biggest guys in the school head on, much older than myself. So I give WT coaching next to zero.

In their recent loss against the Titans for sure Robbie would that landed field goal, especially considering that would have made 2 on the field who cold pop them to dilute the opposition. With that win they would have more energy , drive and purpose for Panthers game.

Who's to say that we would have been in a position to win the game if Farah played?

If what ifs were pots and pans you'd be a tinker.

This

All dislikes aside, nobody can say the season would have panned out any differently had he not been dropped. We won 3 in a row initially, including a win against the defending premiers. We were probably flat as a result against the Titans which we still gave ourselves every chance to win and then there was the Panthers debacle, which in hindsight they were probably deflated from not only the Titans loss but also Tedesco's injury.
