It says a lot about where we've been taken as a club when so many people are vehemently against the biggest player this club has produced being allowed one last game at the home ground he treasures most (let's not kid ourselves).
If in all likelihood the game is a dead-rubber, what are the drawbacks?
We will sell the joint out, get a load of positive press, make a lot of money no doubt, and if JT was to swallow his pride and pick him, he (JT) would surely increase in the minds of Robbie fans for giving him his rightful farewell. We can't bang on about getting ready for next year, because Halatau won't be there next year & Tedesco won't be playing.
I think we're seriously underestimating the impact these events will have on the future contract decisions of the key players we want to keep at our club (Moses, Tedesco, Woods, Brooks). If they continue to see someone who has given everything & a little more to this club shafted aside & totally disrespected because a new coach doesn't like his style of play, are they going to view that positively? Absolutely not, and when the decision comes about sacrificing some money to stay with us or going to another club, that will be in the back of their minds - "if WT could do that to Robbie, what is stopping them do that to me?"
