Siege in Sydney Cafe

Celebrate diversity how good is it

Bloody good, shame though that the radical few can have such a negative influence, particularly on the more ignorant in society.

Whether they are hiding behind balaclavas and holding black and white flags, or wearing white gowns with pointy hats, they are all the same.

I've been at work all day , has something happened in regards to the lady who was shot and died ??

I just caught the last of a new article and it sounded like they were questioning friendly fire ??

That's because Australia is filled with too many left wing do gooders who refuse to take a hardline against criminals and fanatical groups. It's about time we became fanatical about a saying that's been going around for as long as I have been alive….."Australia, love it or leave it!"

Out of the 20 million or so who live in Australia, how many people know the words to "Advance Australia Fair" or "Wlatzing Matilda." Actually, how many of the 5 million people in Sydney know how to sing those songs?

Everyone who lives in Australia should know those songs and the history behind them. It's not much to ask of those who want to live in the world's greatest country.

Your spot on Chris Top Post, can I add the same can be said about Shop signage in shops around Auburn and Cabramatta have the respect to have the shop signage in English not in Chinese were no one knows what the hell it is. :rant

So sorry for all those involved in this tragedy and in particular the two lives tragically lost and their families.
Dont know about Auburn, but i was visiting Cabramatta today and there is a continually growing floral tribute with burning incense and pics of the two brave victims in Freedom Plaza Cabramatta. Yeh sure many shops have many different asian languages on their shopfronts but most also have english as well. In all honesty the Cabramatta locals, of all nationalities, absolutely love Australia's freedom and society and want so much to be a part of Australia.
I would recommend anyone to go to Cabramatta and nearby Canley Hts that have without doubt the best asian cuisine in Australia bar none.

Hey Blackpearl , i know all about Cabramatta , Canley Heights area , i grew up in Fairfield till i got out of there 8 years ago . I even played for Canley Vale Kookas as a kid .
Things must of changed big time cause when my Asian mates used to take me in to Cabramatta i used to say to them "what's this shop your taking me into "? . We used to go for lunch there all the time there and your 100% correct they do have the best Cuisine by far .
when you said : that In all honesty the Cabramatta locals, of all nationalities, absolutely love Australia's freedom and society and want so much to be a part of Australia. , i agree with you whole heartily.
One of my best mates in school Minh would always get me over his place for dinner's and wouldn't meet nicer people …. His Dad would tell me stories about the Vietnam War and the bloke would tear up.
It just used to get to me as a young kid not knowing what the shops were .

onyaforeveratiger, just had to put it out there as well how much cabra has come on over the past ten years or so. fyi foreveratiger canley kooka's are still going strong ( even though i am old old guildford owls player ).and has produced players such as steve sharp and michael vella.

Exactly so! It makes me sad that the families of two good people are grieving because this person decided to gain some final notoriety by superficially aligning himself with a high profile group.

Cabra's cleaned up its act unbelievably the last couple yrs. I remember once when i was little, walking through there with my mum and some guy offered her herion with me holding her hand. No shame they had. You'd be hard pressed finding that culture there now. Really proud in a way having lived there till i was 10.

Livo is the place now that's a hole. Especially up past the plaza, never know what you're gonna be in for.

Good to hear Blackpearl , Michael Vella played all his junior football with me , we were in the same sides then in under 15's he went to Fairfield Pat's. Played a few semi Final's at Mccredie oval Guildford , there Goal post's were unbelievably high 😱pen_mouth:

One time in 2001 had to go to Cabramatta the Mrs needed some Material for dresses , i waited outside the shop in the car while she went in , This Asian fellow with long hair diagonally across the road kept staring at me and then he started walking towards my car i said to myself "shit i'm gone here" then he lent over the passenger's window which was open and said "you okay"? i said yeah no problems , he said "you sure you don't need anything"? I think he might of been in 5T or something , he had Dragon Tattoos all over his arms . He probably thought i was an undercover or i was wanting drugs . Bloody scare y look on him.

He got dead, that's what he got. Sadly he took a couple of innocent people with him.

Death is what he wanted.
The victims did not have a choice.

Bloody oath.To me the biggest danger to our Aussie culture we cherish is not ISIS but the left wing do gooders who seem hell bent on destroying anything that is uniquely Australian but at the same time are more than happy to bend over and cop it in the rear from isis etc claiming that we are racist whenever we conduct a terrorist raid etc.Once we rid Australia of these clowns we will be in a much better position to rid Australia of ISIS followers and any other individual/group of anti Australian sentiment.Remember those big terrorist raids about 6 weeks ago that netted just a few arrest and the Sydney Morning herald screamed victimisation of muslims by us racist Aussies well one of the men who was on the streets of Lakemba protesting that night was this Man Monis clown who did the Lindt cafe siege. What do u say now SMH and its loyal tree hugging followers.

Here you go. EXACTLY what I've been saying.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/man-haron-monis-the-10-fatal-failures-that-led-to-a-horrific-day/story-fnl2dlu7-1227161276856

Man Haron Monis: The 10 fatal failures that led to a horrific day
\
\
AT least 10 catastrophic failings by federal and state agencies led to the Martin Place atrocity, which Prime Minister Tony Abbott yesterday admitted could have been a “preventable tragedy”.
>
Had one of the failings been overturned, the terrorist attack which rocked a nation to the core might have been prevented.
>
A furious Mr Abbott yesterday vowed a swift outcome to an urgent review he ordered on Wednesday into every aspect of the siege.
>
He said the failings, which happened under a string of governments, were a “horrific wake-up call”.
>
“It may well have been a preventable atrocity, and that’s why this swift and thorough review is so important,’’ he said.
>
“This guy has a long history of violence, he has a long history of mental instability, he has a long criminal record and an obvious infatuation with extremism, so it was extraordinary he was on our streets.”
>
FAILED: GRANTED BAIL OVER MURDER
>
In December last year Man Monis was granted bail in Penrith Local Court despite being charged with being an accessory before and after the fact to killing his ex-wife Noleen Hayson Pal. She was stabbed 18 times and set alight in one of the state’s most brutal murders. Bail was granted under old bail laws that made it easier for criminals to be set free.
>
FAILED: SAVED FROM EXTRADITION
>
In 2000 Iran attempted to extradite Monis from Australia back to his homeland to face fraud charges. Monis had defrauded clients who had paid him money as part of the travel agency he owned.
>
Australia refused the request because there was no extradition treaty between the two nations.
>
FAILED: DROPPED OFF WATCH LIST
>
Intelligence agencies had Monis on the terror watch list before he dropped off it in about 2010.
>
Had he been on the list he more than likely would not have been granted bail.
>
FAILED: GRANTED CITIZENSHIP
>
Monis was granted Australian citizenship in 2004 despite a warrant being out in Iran for his arrest.
>
He should have faced justice in his homeland far earlier. Instead he was granted citizenship in Australia.
>
The Iranian foreign ministry said Australian authorities knew about Monis’s problems.
>
FAILED: ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTRY
>
The terrorist first came to Australia in 1996 and was granted political refugee status. The Iranian government were chasing him for fraud. Despite the allegations he was allowed into Australia.
>
FAILED: GIVEN LEGAL AID
>
After he wrote disgraceful letters to widows of Australian war heroes Monis used Legal Aid to go to the High Court in a bid for the trial to be aborted. The taxpayers paid the bill.
>
FAILED: GUN LICENCE MIX-UP
>
National databases, which interstate police use to share information, indicated Monis held a gun licence.
>
Mr Abbott confirmed on Wednesday Monis had a licence, but it was later revealed the database was wrong and the AFP was forced to explain the error in the system.
>
“The AFP has been working closely with CrimTrac, federal and state partners to establish the source of the entry, and to identify any shortfalls within the current system,’’ a statement said.
>
FAILED: ALLOWED TO LIVE ON WELFARE
>
The terrorist lived off the hard work of everyday Australians.
>
If he was not allowed to claim welfare it would have made it more difficult for him to stay in Australia.
>
FAILED: MULTIPLE IDENTITIES
>
Tracking the terrorist throughout his 18 years in Australia proved difficult because he had multiple aliases.
>
Man Haron Monis came to Australia as Mohammad Hassan Manteghi.
>
He was later known as Sheik Haron. It is believed he had other names.
>
FAILED: INFORMATION NOT SHARED
>
Questions have been raised about whether commonwealth and state agencies share enough information. It is believed agencies made decisions without having access to information that other agencies knew about. It will form part of the urgent review ordered by Prime Minister Abbott.

I understand the concern regarding this thread turning into a political nightmare..
However, as AMXH has said it needs to be discussed so as to help find solutions to this tradgedy and something like this doesn't occur again..
People have all different ideas and opinions but,in the light of what has happened most of us are hurting and feeling deeply saddened for the people and families left forever haunted by this absolute despicable act in our great country….

Can we really look at these victims and their families and honestly wish THEM a merry Xmas...
So in that regard maybe the whole judicial system does need a complete over haul, maybe then we can all feel safer not just for us or our families but all Austalians as one.......

Yes that's fine ….by all means have the discussion no one is saying you can't... but do it in here.....
