The lurker is saying we'll re-sign 3 of our big 4 with Brooks likely to miss out. Which can only mean we've actually re-signed Brooksy for 3 years.

the lurker said lloyd perrett was joining titans then 2 days later he signed with manly

very strange considering he said that teddy was almost certain to go to the chooks next year…

I don't mind the show, at least they talk about mostly RL.
The only one that I can't stand is That snivelling wimp Gavin ,
If I hear"aaarrrhhh you can't say that Graeme"" much more, I'll go nuts.
Try living in Qld. Talkin Sport leaves the other stations for dead.
At least you get 3 hours 4 hours of sport without Wayne's son in law, or Hadley and his lame crew.
And you can easily turn it off if the stations not up to Inks Standard

Robbo… Christ almighty...

"Yeah it's... I dunno Graeme, I mean you know what I'm saying, don't you Graeme? I'd like to think Graeme, that you know, I dunno... We've all been there Graeme. Did you hear our new dad rock band Graeme? Did you come out Graeme? Graeme? Graeme?"

It's like he's paid by the name drop.

Tunks is a grade-A dope. He didn't know that Michael Gordon played an origin for Pete's sake... For someone who makes a living off the back of being a commentator on the happenings of the game he has FA understanding of it.

And Sue... Jesus tap-dancing Christ... "Hooooooiiiiiiiiii gooooooooyyyyyyyyys"

Does Darren the Souths fan still call? He sounds like his head has been turned 180 degrees. He use to call in and give score updates from the Sheffield Shield.

Does he actually use the phrase "miss out"?

"Miss out" suggests that Brooks wants to stay, same as the others, but the other 3 will take up the available funds. It suggests that Tigers are calling all the shots and Brooks will be pushed out to find another club.

I don't have faith in The Lurker but I don't mind going on record to say I really thought Brooks was going to be a pillar of our future team. Maybe he still will be, but the noise is pretty consistent at least, even if he stays, that he's not at the top of the pecking order.

I've usually been pretty spot on about this, not a unique talent amongst supporters, but I've seen some boys play their first 1 or 2 games and I knew they'd be special and important to our team long-term. The Benji one was obvious when he zig-zagged through Brisbane, same with Chris Lawrence when he burned Shaun Berrigan. But I picked Farah even from his first game off the bench, and he only played 7 games in the first two seasons until his involvement in 2005\. I called out Aaron Woods from his Foundation Cup match in 2011 when I only really knew him as that shaggy kid from the NYC, but he made such an impact against what was a quality Roosters pack. Tedesco even though he busted his knee in game 1, you could see he was a special talent.

I felt the same way about Brooks. Not just that famous St George game which could have been a fluke, but watching him go around in 20s and then his next FG games. I definitely felt Brooks was a future leader and was not convinced about Moses, but actually they've swung around so far now.

^^^ I hope we keep all 4 & agree with your opinion on Brooks being a pillar of our team - still think he has time to achieve this. I think the lurker was implying that if the Tigers had a choice they'd pick Teddy, Moses & Woods over him but didn't specify that he wanted to stay.

Even more reason why mgt needs to wrap these re-signings up ASAP to avoid all this speculation.

Can't see them wrapping them up before round 1.

Hey Geo and others, missed the show window due four hour time difference and keeping the young fella happy at the beach at that time, so wondering if Pascoe was on the show?

In regards to signing the big 4.

If one of them is not going to accept a new contract (such as the suggestion with Brooks).
I wonder if it would be worth shopping them around to other clubs for 2017, so that another club could buy him off the Tigers giving the club some spare change? Its still up until June 30 that they can move to another club isn't it?

It would also allow Taylor to trial Littlejohn or Rankin in the halves with Moses at 7, before deciding what is needed for 2018.

I reckon Brooks will either step up early in the new season and price himself out of the tigers, or show similar to last year and take a modest contract with the tigers. Why would rival clubs pay big money if there is suspicion he can't make the leap to consistent, quality first grader.

I guess the unknown is tigers TPAs. Why couldn't we keep all 4 if reports of HT providing TPAs (via Tigertorch) are true?

IMO Brooks is just as important as Moses to the team. But i dont think Jason Taylor can get the best out of him. This is not a JT bashing post either. Under Potter's coaching Brooks was confident, certain with his decision making and in alot better form during those 2 years.

He has been the opposite under Taylor's guidance and coaching. Its clear to see

I remember TT saying he would give us a new years review of the club.. I hope he hasn't left the forum.. I love his updates..

That's a point but do you reckon loss of confidence / application is from the coach, or from his actual experiences as a player?

Potter gave Brooks his debut in 2013 and had one year to work with him as what I would call a highly-rated and confident young talent.

Taylor took Brooks from 2015, at risk of "second year syndrome" if you discount that one game in 2013.

The other question is - did Brooks regress under Taylor, or did Tedesco and Moses just get that much better? We can question that if JT was able to get that kind of form spike from Teddy and Moses, why not Brooks? It can't just be position, because the 5/8 vs HB skills are very close.

I agree and hope they keep brooks, I think we squandered our chance and should have won a lot more GFs when we had Benji, without a consistent halfs partner he struggled, cause it was all on him and he overplayed his hand. When we had Lui he was so much better.

Who would we get better than him at budget that is a genuine threat on his day and can play in unison with Moses?

I've heard him occasionally, not as much as he used too

When has he played well with Moses since they hit first grade . His best games have been when only he played, I'd still like to see him play with a different 6,
It may not be a success, but I'd still like to see how it went.
hes certainly got talent, but takes a backseat too much

I suspect Brooks felt more confident when he had Anasta at his side.
