Would be good but we haven't shown any interest as yet. Word is he's on his way to manly. Tigers were fairly confident of getting whare so him staying at Penrith three a spanner in the works. It's gonna be hard to attract quality backs with no idea who the 5/8 or fullback is gonna be at this stage. And I think that's what cost tigers whare.

So you think Nofa will stay? Do you have any updates on teddy and woods. And is is true the widdop offer?

Nofo should stay yes. I'm surprised he hasn't signed already. Probably the best outside back off contract to be honest. Surprised he hasn't had a tonne of offers

What cost the Tigers any hope of Whare was the 5 year deal offered by the Panthers. He's had multiple recos and if he does another ACL his career will be over - he's going to be acutely aware of that. That could happen tomorrow and he'd still be getting paid for the next 5 years. They locked him up by offering him security.

That's not entirely true with your last line there. There are provisions where the player only gets a certain %. Not the contract in full. I think it's a maximum 2 years payout. I'd have to check

It's 25% over the next two seasons in the standard form but they may not have gone with the standard form.

Probably freeing up cap space so they can pinch Tedesco off us.

Why would we want a cast off and assist the Roosters with the cap? Connor Watson yes but this players name is mentioned every year as being surplus as Bondi, for a reason. We can offer to take Latrell Mitchell of their hands to assist with the cap.

His form this year has been good but he is so inconsistent . No doubt he has great natural ability but not sure about his head space.Tricky one because he has all the attributes a great winger needs.

While I wouldn't mind him I certainly wouldn't want to get into a bidding war over him. Not worth the cap space when we have to invest in the forward department.

Exactly right

Make sure that first we have a fullback, centre, 5/8 and at least 2 forwards, and only then would i consider him.

To be honest if tupou is gonna cost 600ish, id much rather have naiqama for 150 or something like that and spend the remainign 450 elsewhere.

its all relative to what you pay.

I think this boat has sailed, might have been ok a few years ago. I went to the game vs brisbane and all the outside backs looked disinterested. Apparently ferguson has been out on the tiles, Mitchell got dragged and skd should have got dragged as well. It may have been an off night but something didn't look right. Maybe they are not happy about the huge offer for Tedesco. Both ferguson and Mitchell probably see themselves as future 1's on the big money.

Are we talking about Daniel Tupou from the Roosters ??

Yes happy apparently, I'm a bit confused too, I'm thinking even 250-300k is overs for a non-goal kicking, non-try scoring winger who is ineffective dummy half runner. Ok, so he is tall but when was the last time you saw him scoring a try from a bomb? With the 7 tackle rule and change in attacking kicks these types of wingers are largely redundant now.

Id be in favour of it as long as he doesnt want ridiculous money, and provided Nofo is our first priority.

Think he offers a different element to our attack particularly in the air, his other general wing play is also decent.

Tupou made has career off demolishing David Williams in the gf….stick him outside idris and we would have the tallest centre wing combo in the league, but probably not defensively that crash hot

I do not want Tupou one bit.

I would rather Mead, Edwards or Gela-Mosby who would all cost about the same if not less than Tupou.
Apart from height Tupou has no good winger attributes and is not worth spending money on.

This would be my back 5 for 2018:

Tedesco
Nofoaluma
Idris/Milne/Suli
Suli/Milne
Mead/Edwards/Gela-Mosby

Read on the forums that itll be dragons or titans for him….
Dont stress yall, we aren't getting him.

I read on the Dragons forum on LU that we are chasing Kurt Mann. He's a good signing for us for that last wing spot tbh because he can cover other spots in a pinch. I hope there is truth to it.

Kurt Mann would be awesome I rate him he's only going get better and better IMO he's a special talent

Capewell has re-signed with the Sharks, so it looks like we aren't getting him either.
