Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wasn't Capewell a lock in for us? A lot of uninformed rubbish appearing on the forum. I suppose everyone is just frustrated but so much of what appears here just fails to happen

Capewell has re-signed with the Sharks, so it looks like we aren't getting him either.

Ok so that makes it even then
Correct: Brooks, McQueen
Incorrect: Whare, Capewell

I wouldn't necessarily say whare and capewell were incorrect. The mail was that we were in negotiations with both of them, and there's no reason to say that is false.

Gents,
I normally just read on this forum, however on good authority the tigers were never talkign with D Whare as reported. Wouldve loved him at the club though….

Geeesus how can the Brisvegas Show Ponies afford to sign Jack Bird for 3 years 2.5 Mil and fit him in under their salary cap … and they stay under the salary cap, look at us and we're over .... really, who does our books ??

Question,

Would you have Danny Wicks in the team, avocadoontoast?

No chance in the world. I see Rugby League being a profession to which standards need to be met. For instance, if I was convicted of a crime of that magnitude I would be unable to work in my field. Why should I be held to a higher standard than a professional athlete?

Re-hab is the key, and a private organisation like the NRL has access to some of the best personnel to do this.

Check this article out as an example.

https://www.businessinsider.com.au/10-ex-criminals-who-completely-turned-their-careers-around-2012-6

Getting the opportunity to play professional sports is a privilege, not a right. As far as i'm concerned if you go and traffic drugs or beat someone to within an inch of their life you've lost that privilege.

And just as a side note with regards to the link, Michael Vick is still an absolutely vile human being and Charles Colson was a leading architect of Watergate that later in life became a religious nutter.

100% agree…..kids see these guys as role models whether they like it or not. Imagine your kid saying 'when I grow up I want to be like Russell packer or Michael Vick'.....no thanks

Knights remind me of Raiders from a few years back, making a play for anyone and everyone..

Turned out pretty well for the Raiders.
Foran is going to the Dogs no risk.

If I was in charge of Wests Tigers recruitment assuming Tedesco and woods don't sign I'd go along these lines

Foran
Harawira
Lawton
Matulino
Vete
Packer
Mead/Dugan
Milne/Ferguson

Surely this cant keep dragging on. Its becoming a real joke. My head tells me they are leaving but my heart tells me that Ivan has had a big impact on them already and is slowly but steadily winning them back. Its the only reason i can think of that the club is allowing this to continue to drag on.
