Not much room for next year though unless we get some movement on some of the guys who are square pegs in our squad.
I think the key will be put all the focus into signings for November 1 and season 26. We have 11 spots on offer currently. A lot of other clubs have similar space in their roster but maybe not the same cap money available.
Aim for signings a year out, we may get lucky and get some early releases to join the squad next year.
Otherwise our goal for next year should be beefing up our NSW cup team with some journey men similar to porter. Tuitivake, Malpapalangi, Stimson, Parker, Woolford, Hopeate, Clark. Let’s improve our 2nd tier with these guys.
 
There are some quality players in good teams not playing each week off contract 24/25 in good teams.

Second Rowers: Teig Wilton, Jackson Ford Kobe Hetherington, Jack Williams.

Props: Tuku Hau Tapua, Royce Hunt, Xavier Willson, Bullemor

Backs: Blake Wilson, Skelton, Israel Leota, Kayal Iro.

We need to sign and extend Pole and juniors. We need to add 3 of these types of players to the squad. If juniors can do the job that’s ideal but we need better experienced players.

That's interesting. Since Hagipantelis' letter ending their sponsorship I've despised having that logo on the front of the jersey.

I've really hoped there was some way the tigers could reimburse Brydon's what they'd paid for the remainder of the season and removed anything and everything with their name.

It baffles me how a man his age (with the intelligence to become a lawyer, mind) can have such a childish, spoilt brat personality.

Hmm... Okay, there is a distinct possibility I am the pot calling the kettle black here... 🤔

But after that letter I thought "fine. Here's your money back, now fk off and don't show your face around this club again".

I really like Royce Hunt. I get the feeling he is very much the George Rose type you'd have to monitor 24/7 during the off season (could return to pre season at 154kgs!), but he's big, tough, and I think he could be a good signing.

After that- it's getting the depth right so that we aren't playing reserve players as starters & children as the #1 back up without being tested.

Utoikamanu's retention or loss can go either way. If we keep him- he's probably the most damaging ball runner we have. If we lose him, it's an opportunity to bring in a harder, more physically dominant player like NAS.

NAS, Hetherington, Horsburgh etc- if we can add one or two guys that teams don't want to run at in the middle, our whole defence improves. I think there are winning pieces in place, with great talent emerging- we just need to plaster over the holes that better teams don't have.

If we are to copy ANY team in trying to build up to competitive- it's the Dolphins. Uncompromising, but limited forwards that don't give an inch. Power & speed out wide to give enough punch to win games.

I wouldn't mind getting Tesi Niu over, with that in mind.

The only time we have managed to toughen up our defence was the last 4 weeks of the 2005 season
We have been a chronically bad defensive unit since day dot
I'd bet since the WTs have been in the NRL reckon our defensive points per game is the worst of any club
Don't see our defence improving anytime soon

Yes but we have to move on contracted players here before we can sign them. No one is volunteering and I don’t blame any of them for digging their heels in.
It may come down to our end of season party. Subtly supply heaps of coke and hookers and wait for scandal. Then terminate. Might get heaps on the chopping block if lucky enough……
