Even if he would prefer to stay, why would he sign before he sees what the market will bear. Unless it’s a wild Mad Monday, he is no risk of an injury before November 1
Nothing to gain by signing early, but might squeeze a few extra dollars by holding to November. If I were his agent I would be doing the same thing.

Storm have more than enough props, they would need to move a few to sign him

If you were Richo & have put forward your best & most reasonable offer to Pole without a commitment coming back, would you allow him to test the market early pre-Nov 1 and request he makes a decision by Nov-1?

Pole doesn't have to but if Richo can outline how he'd let him test the market early if Pole does the best by the club with an early decision so the club can plan forward accordingly.

Richo needs to start playing hard ball with these assholes. Give him our best and most reasonable offer, give him a deadline and if there's no commitment, hes told he's 100% gone at the end of contract and we move on. We do not converse with his agent in regards to another contract full stop. Richo talks up wanting committed players. Let's start weeding out the rot.

I'm still totally confused at how the club failed to see what the fan base saw. I was hoping Steph would stay and kick on but in the last 12 months there is no way Steph should have been our top forward re-signing priority. That was always Pole. Us fans had been yelling from the rooftops about it for ages. Instead we throw an alleged 800k a year 4 mill deal to Steph. If I'm Pole I'm peeved considering the diffrence in the form between the 2 this year. If we see Steph as an 800k prop then what's Pole 2.5 million.

Agree. If he plans to test the market anyway, I would give him permission to do it early so that the club has certainty by November 1.

500k would be a fair deal, possibly increasing over the next couple of seasons if he grows into the player he can potentially become.
