Our forward pack is definitely a problem, but with that back 5 the job of the forwards changes significantly. You can probably afford to be a little lighter as long as they are tight defensively.

I had to look him up. 6.2 108kgs centre, decent run metres, but bugger all LBA, TA or offloads. Not much point having a winger outside him.
I can’t say I remember seeing him play anyone got any better info than stats.

Hodgson has been coaching in league and union for more then 10 years. He isn't exactly inexperienced in coaching ranks - in fact that would make him our most experienced coach

I think they’d be content to let that sort of contract move on…
You’re right though - Panthers have the high ground when it comes to players coming and going….
Still reckon there’s something in them not replacing JFH and RCG not announced anywhere yet…
Maybe they need a few more bucks to get it done and an expensive winger is surplus to their needs these days

This quite period is worrying me , thought we would have got a couple more forwards by now , can’t see us getting any one from the teams in the finals , so why is it taking so long , are we stuck waiting to move players on , or targets have got cold feet . There’s not a lot of movement atm. I think by mid November we will have a better idea. Even though we are unlikely to get any one from the finals sides some domino’s might need to fall.
Would be nice to have it all sorted by the start of preseason though

Player recruitment and retention would be a lot more complicated than what many of us think.
I would imagine Richo & Benji are well aware we still need a few more quality recruits to give us a playing roster strong enough to be a realistic chance of playing finals in 2025, but getting the players we want and offloading the ones we no longer want would be a massive jigsaw puzzle in itself.
I anticipate at least one more high profile recruit that none of really see coming. as well as one or two that we have been strongly linked to.

All I'm saying is Brian To'o has twice now shut down any speculation of him wanting to leave & the Penrith CEO has come out & shut down any talk of him leaving either. He's contracted to Penrith till 2027 & there is no chance in hell they'll be letting him go early. Just saying so we don't have to see 5 pages of imaginary backlines with Brian To'o in them.

To'o is a one trick pony - Can make dirty yards....
Limited Speed Wise, Limited in the Air.
I'd rather have a Winger that doesn't make quite as many yards - but is faster, bigger and better with the high ball.
He just doesn't get challenged in the air as much at Penrith as he would elsewhere simply because most teams that play Penrith are kicking from well inside their own half.

Overall,
The Panthers game makes him look much better than he is,
And he costs too much. Anyone talking about buying a Winger for 900k is on Crack.
- We'd be buying a contract the panthers could do without.

Mate, have you watched him for the last 5 years and playing SOO?! He is worth 10x any winger we have trotted out since the club began.

I've watched plenty of To'o, As much as anyone here I'd safely bet....
Much more than Most.

He does what he does very well, No doubt....
doesn't have enough in his kit bag for me.
That's why anyone banging on about him only refers to his meters, or finishing...

I'm looking for a threat in the air, some size and some speed....
Pretty basic requisites of a modern day Winger you'd think?
He's not real flush with any of that...

Tbh 9th would be a great season for us. People need to understand a team like the bulldogs going from the bottom 4 to 6th is basically an anomaly, well maybe not considering a team has done it every season for a while 😂 we just need to be the dragons of next season and that’s a good way forward

Just about every year there are teams from the bottom four going on excellent runs into the 8 the following year. Not saying it is achievable for the Tigers next year but:

2024 - Dogs (6th)
2023 - Warriors (4th) Knights (7th)
2022 - Cowboys (3rd)
2021 - Manly (6th)
2019 - Eels (6th)

And so on...
