Dragons consider Doueihi move amid Hunt saga, Ilias-Hastings swap deal off the cards
The Dragons are considering making a play for Adam Doueihi after informing Ben Hunt he could test the market. It comes as Lachlan Ilias ended any chance of a Jackson Hastings swap deal.www.smh.com.au
St George Illawarra are considering making a play for Wests Tigers utility Adam Doueihi after informing Ben Hunt he had permission to begin negotiating with rival clubs immediately.
The Dragons have had internal discussions about making a play for Doueihi, who is a free agent after November 1.
The Tigers have not been able to move a number of players in their roster and the Dragons are willing to entertain the idea of Doueihi joining the club immediately if the Tigers are willing to release him.
Doueihi is on a deal worth around $350,000 at the Tigers next year.
Hunt’s future at the Dragons is up in the air as it grows increasingly likely that he has played his final game for the red V.
Sources with knowledge of the situation talking under the condition of anonymity due to confidentiality told this masthead that the Dragons held a board meeting on Tuesday and decided to allow Hunt the opportunity to begin speaking with rival clubs for 2026 before the November 1 free agency date.
A few, thought he would kick in but shocking injuries and suspect defence have plagued him. I thought something had to give with him and Star but don’t think Star very saleable.Anyone going to shed any tears over AD if he leaves ?
Off you go AD!![]()

What promising junior?Swap for a promising junior

I won’t mind seeing AD going ok, even if it’s elsewhere.
I don’t know what point you are making. I never said he wouldn’t start, just said the jury is out. He doesn’t have much competition. The plan is clearly for Skelton to be a starting winger next year …
That certainly doesn’t guarante any success though …just like the two you mentioned…one of whom gets picked in the side every week

He clearly outplayed Galvin and I’m one who believes Gal is a talented player. I enjoy the continued criticism of Brooks, just gives him more opportunity to stick it up ya’s.Impressive against PNG doesn't really count
I know it’s a long shot but I’d love if we could swap Doueihi for Loko Tonga. He’s an extremely promising young forward 6”5 at 19 played U/19s SOO.
Even 30 spots is progress and better than 31. One player at a time. We're currently at 31 contracted so AD going would only get us down to 30. We'd need to offload another to extend Sione.
Mulitalo to wing, Skelton to prepare to move to back row?How many wingers do we need ?
I think we’re pretty set on hard headed and experienced forwards with the likes of Alex Twal, Seyfarth (kinda), Klemmer and Hunt. The types of players I wouldn’t be surprised if 3 of them got sin-binned in the same game.It would be nice to have another hard headed experienced forward or two …
I think we have more than enough young guys to develop. And it appears that vacant Top 30 spots are going to be scarce
outside the square thinking …not bad …Mulitalo to wing, Skelton to prepare to move to back row?
My bad ....thought we were at 30 ...how can that actually happen ...nextthing you know you'll be allowed to go over the cap before deciding who you want to let goWe're currently at 31 contracted so AD going would only get us down to 30. We'd need to offload another to extend Sione.
I don’t know enough about him but he looks like an edge back rower to me, if you could get Mulitalo you find a way to make something work.outside the square thinking …not bad …
Skelton may not have the motor to move to the forwards though … Would be a risk considering he hasn’t got a lot of first grade experience to date …
Things are looking grim in the forwards … it’s not Round 1 yet ..but really hoping someone falls out of a tree
3 if you ask me ...2 props ...1 second rowerNEED TWO FORWARDS. !
