Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Id be delighted if we got Packer I think he's exactly what we need none of our forwards have the mongrel we've been lacking this bloke has it and then some.

Just what the Doctor ordered!
Mautilino and Packer as our two book ends is imo an upgrade on Woods and Ava. Different styles of props but more suited to the type of team Ivan is building.
So far out of the three players we have lost only one position in the side has been weaken. The other positions have been strengthened and the overal side for 2018 will be stronger than it's been for years. The other bonus is the balance.

I like what Ivan has done so far
Big Ben for Woods I think is pretty Good replacement
Josh for Moses again is good with no loss but a small gain with his aggression
Macqueen is an old head plays steady all game , adds to our team

We need one more aggressive type up fronti, Packer would suite

We need some speed
We need a solid kicker

We need a back up Prop
We need a hard running back rower

We need 1/2 dozen reserve graders on the verg at other clubs to strengthen our back up
I hope we do get the young Kiwi and also the 2 from super league it would help out nicely

I think it was JT who signed McQueen

Latest news links Lolohea to the Cowboys but i hope it is a media mess up.

It has been reported that we are supposedly offering former bulldog winger Corey Thompson a two year deal. He has played the last 3 seasons for Widnes in the Super League. Any truth to this? Can anyone one remember what he was like when he played with the dogs?

Would make a play for Gideon Gela-Mosby. Would solve the speed issue outwide. With Lolohea looking likely to be a cowboy, could be a good chance to approach Mosby who is off contract at the cowboys.

With a potential forward pack this week against Souths of Ava, MM, Sue, Edwards, Lawrence and Taylor we could get absolutely monstered if the Souths pack wake up. A swap to Matulino, MM, Packer, McQueen, Aloiai, Taylor would certainly be a lot tougher.

He was alright for them. Can't believe he's been in the UK for three years?

He hasn't, played for the dogs 2013 to 2015, joined Widnes in 2016, has scored 28 tries in 39 games, he will be 27 this year

Buzz saying gagai likely to leave the Knights. Would definitely be happy if WT signed him up.

Also tweeted a reply about who is interested in dugan and says WT as one of the teams.

Packer too close to call between saints and WT

From Fox sports. Ottio would be a good pickup.

THE FORGOTTEN TIGER FUNDS

The Wests Tigers have been unabashed in their pursuit of new players to add quality to their side.

Even after signing Ben Matulino and Josh Reynolds to handsome deals, the Tigers have what seems to be an endless supply of cash.

Why is that?

Robbie Farah. While the hooker isn’t at the club, he’s burning a hole in their salary cap this season.

A $700,000 hole, in fact. That payment expires in November, which means Ivan Cleary has plenty more cash to splash on marquee recruits.

Meanwhile, Corey Thompson has accepted a one-year-deal with the Tigers starting next season after being granted a release from Widnes.

Fellow Super League back, Mahe Fonua, has requested a release from his contract with Hull FC to return to Australia.

The 24-year-old and his partner are expecting their first child and wish to return to Australia to be closer to their families.

The Tigers have offered Fonua a two-year-deal and are also keeping a close watch of Raiders winger Kato Ottio’s movements.

Doubt it. Gagai has expressed his excitement with the club's future several times and even designed their indigenous jersey. He loves the club

We have all been taking into account Farah's money. He's off the books next year, we all knew it was going to be put into use next year. Really a non story. Unless they slipped it in as a subtle dig. I know the digs are becoming harder now that we're getting our house in order. Shows the desperation.

Yeah we all knew this is nothing new. They are trying to find anything negative they can.. something positive from the media would be greatly appreciated, sivk of the bashing

When we string performances together and the transit 3 move on things will settle down.

Front office is just about in order now, once the football department gets their act together the drama will go away*.

*Unless of course Simona is desperate for another bet and decides to sell another story to blow things open again…

I haven't seen Kato Ottio play. What are people's thoughts? Any good?

Next week it will be about Siro's cash to spend.

These compilation highlight videos can be a trap. Some A League clubs have used them only to purchase duds. However this guy has one thing we are lacking- pace. Certainly worth a go if as suspected , he would not be on big money.
