Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Really good post hsv. Richardson is a huge asset to the club and we can be assured he and Marshall are working overtime to address gaps in the roster.
Anyone who turns on Richo is a first grade moron with no knowledge of Rugby League. The man's track record speaks for itself and what he has done in a very short time has been strong. The same critics probably want Pascoe back.

Last year Richo's plan for the club was to let the team play for like 8-10 games and assess what needed to be done and he then went about doing so.
This is the same this year, it is that time where he will start to adjust the roster as needed and I trust him 100%.

TBF all the players he brought in this year have performed way better than the past ones plus all the players we let go have not been missed IMO

I cannot believe people are starting to turn on him when it takes a few years to turn a club around and ours is a bigger job than most.

Keep the faith people
He said it was his job to get Benji the team and resources he wants.

Then hes busy running the club.

We dont have a recruitment officer, but we have the stats person.

I think Richo has good and bad points like anyone else. No one is perfecffft

Benji said last night in the presser on the bye week we were doing a mid season review

It is the basic's that are costing games and a better position of the table. Would rather win ugly than lose the way the last 2 games have been played.
1. no constructive kicking game
2. slow line speed in attack and defense
3.poor tackling
4.too much sideways movement in attack
5. no straight running trying to bend the line, just a lot of run at the defense turn and pass

Well Board meeting tonight and hopefully what ever Richo is taking to the board should be given the all clear , Richo and Benji have done well with new players so far , they have all been good , so if they need a tick to sign and announce a few get it done as we still need a few players to be competitive every week allowing for injuries , can you imagine last nights game with no May ,
Galvin if discussed I hope it’s a move him on now if you can , but we must get a player or funds in return , teams will pay him $ 750 plus so player replacement would need to be a solid first grader in position we need playing first grade currently to cover ( Prop , Centre , Back row , Lock ) or $ 250 - $ 350 cash , he also should be telling the board who else he and Benji will move on before June 30 or by the end of season , that list will need to be about 6/8 players ( Naden , Tumeth , Matta , just to start

This forum has had nothing but praise for Hunt all season whereas I haven't seen a single performance to justify it. He has had the occasional strong carry but I haven't seen him come on and lift or change momentum. Doesn't play enough minutes leaving us to run May into the ground and occasionally exposed in defence.
I was pleased with his signing without having huge expectations but I think he has been disappointing so far.
He’s doing exactly what he did at the Sharks but in a weaker team. Shouldn’t be a surprise.

Not sure where to post this.
But opening up to the floor.
As we ended up losing both Stef and Klem by the start of the season and signed May it left us as a 2 for 1 situation.
In a perfect world we should have moved on Klem, retained Stef and signed May as our starting front row. Would have been 100% attainable in terms of cap availability.
When do you think we’ll get to the point like other teams that manage to recruit in talented players whilst keeping our own to improve a squad rather than change it?
Think of the forward pack at the Sharks for example before AFB signs with them or the Raiders before adding in the two English boys or this season as the alternative to the above the Melbourne team who added Stef in whilst retaining NAS and decent back up players in Lazarus Valepa and the big Fijian boy.
These teams just seem to keep adding into an already strong side but yet we have to replace 1 with another.

Steph wanted trophies now
Klemmer was on to much coin , pretty much why they aren’t hear now , but agree we should be strengthening not swapping but Richo will make us stronger done a good job so far just needs about 3 or 4 more players

I think the board meeting is more about signing May and due to the form and backlash they will discuss options for Galvin.
I also think if its May it will happened pretty quick so he could get to work and maybe play Cup game this weekend.
I don't see Knights letting KPP go early if he is coming in 2026 as Obrien would want to be winning now to sabe his job.

Royce is not a starter.
This is part of why we need another prop, although I was told on here we had heaps of props and giraffe was named as one of them.
This is so right I was told the same thing too many props, the trouble is most aren't good enough, take Pole or May out and we look ordinary, we are screaming out for another 110kg plus bruiser.

💯
But if these basics have just been getting gradually worse for 11 rounds, it doesn’t give us much confidence that it will improve anytime soon.

We signed Royce Hunt after losing Stef. He was originally the Stef replacement. We then signed May and let Klem go.

Until we start winning consistently like 4 or 5 wins in a row, not just every few weeks, then signing better players is more difficult. Hell even our juniors want out.

Our previous management put under developed juniors on top 30 contracts! How dumb is that?

ATM we are still that club that if you sign with us you are kissing representative honours goodbye.
