Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I can’t remember anyone here ever suggesting the WT recruit Tracey..which is amazing given the amount of players that do get mentioned … he has been your definition really of a journeyman ..and as mentioned earlier,,,,just because he has had success at the Dogs, doesn’t mean he would have that success at the WT this season if he was playing here …

What about Montoya ? Again ..a player no one here would have ever suggested ..but he is playing better than his previous form would indicate or even allow …. He is obviously being well coached within a strongly defined system on both sides of the ball… those systems don’t exist at our club
Connor Tracey was mentioned in this very thread multiple times before the Bulldogs signed him and so too was Montoya.
I do agree that the Bulldogs no doubt currently have much better coaching structures in place than what we do, but good players are good players, we do not currently have enough of them.

Yeah ..by who? I don’t think either were one of your boys right ? 😎…

I agree with Chadster that Tracey would still be a relative nobody if he was playing with us these past two years

Connor Tracey wasn’t one I mentioned myself, but I was never against signing him and always agreed with those who did mention him.
What our current team lacks is players with explosive speed, those who hit top speed quickly and are fearless with their ball carries. I’m concerned young Luke Laulilli might be a touch too small, but he certainly fits into the explosive speed category.

I'm a card carrying Sycophant. I'm still here.

Next off season I'm going to make a bunch of vague, obtuse and unspecific generalisations about every topic, player, and person being crap and then glaze myself raw on this forum non stop all season for predicting it and being right.
Aka running a Tucker!!! 🥰🤣😅

And Seibold is the coach most under pressure . I just can't defend benji after that performance and that's after 5 losses. I don't think Richo can continue to do he's job to turn this club around with benji producing that kind of rubbish. It looked like park footy and the only thing stopping another 60 plus against was the opposition. I don't want to think abt what's going to happen next week against the chooks then warrior's in NZ. . I don't know what the answer is if there is one. We are in a lot of trouble.
I don’t know what it is about Seibold, but he is always hounded by the media as being under pressure no matter where he is coaching. Someone, somewhere has it in for him big time. Benji? Well I guess it’s still early days for him and he is much more liked than Seibold.

The point I’m trying to make is we are bringing the wrong players in 90% of the time, so of course they won’t work if they don’t have the characteristics we need.
Who are the players with the characteristics we need Vicious? I would’ve thought guys like Api, Luai, May, Turuva, Skelton even Hunt at the time of purchase would be just the kind of players we need. It comes down to coaching. If Ivan Cleary coached the exact team we have now, we’d be top 4.

He cops a 1 week ban because that scumbag was obstructing him. What the f*ck is he supposed to do? The NRL is a criminal organisation.
the Dylan brown one was crazy too.
Luai ran into Atkins at the raiders (?) game and he just laughed about it
Some refs don’t care others have a stick up their ass

Besides Hunt who we recruited hoping he would add impact, the others are all hard working types who do the grunt work, but which of them offers the explosive speed we are lacking ?
Surely almost everyone agrees we are lacking explosive speed, tackle break and line break ability ?

It’s not like playing whatever the NRL version of Madden though is it ? Just because some of the players with elite traits you mention become available, it doesn’t mean they will be interested in coming to our long term bottom of the table club… when they have other suitors and money on offer …

Also as mentioned …the Dogs have signed plenty of worker bees and have made themselves an elite team…. No doubt because of elite coaching which is absent from this club

Personally I would prefer them to persevere with Sam F … he is still only 21 and played less than 50 games …. It’s harder to find edges then middles

I think people have some short memories of how he played last year … obviously there is some second year syndrome this season … no doubt because he has been targeted on the opposition game plans and tip sheets each week given the lack of other threats in the team …

To my naked eye he appears a bit lighter this year …maybe they asked him to drop some weight and it’s had a negative impact on his form ?
Fainu could be something special. Why you would want to put him in the middle and blunt him, who the hell knows.

The Bulldogs have no sluggish players who generally run the ball at half pace except for Galvin, let’s see if they coach that out of him.

The Bulldogs dont appear sluggish because the coach has clearly defined systems and processes on both sides of the ball which gets the best out of the players he has…a lot of whom were not highly thought of when they were recruited by them …surely you remember the ridicule 18 months back when they recruited most of them?

Do you think the WT currently have a player who is playing to their best ? But the guys you want to recruit this offseason will?

I’m very curious to see how Galvin goes at the Dogs …my expectations are not high …he only played 20 minutes and passed the ball every time … didn’t run it once .. I suspect he is on a tight leash from the coach , when the way he played all year here was to run around like a headless chook all game
