Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This is from a few years back but think they still use the same mob

Yes it is but the NRL tell them the major points of the season like who plays in Vegas who has byes around origin and who plays in last weekend of the year and what days they play on and the computer does the rest and it's a few draws they are presented with before making final choice

So it's rigged but we get an outside company to rig it for us So All Is Good

Bird is looking elsewhere too (some behind-the-scenes stuff I promised not to share) so could have another roster spot before the start of next season. I love his energy but didn't really find his spot here.

Also, the tigers would love Talakai but doubt the Sharks will let him go after his late-season form (their words). They see him as the perfect utility, best suited in the middle off the bench but can cover edge and centre. I guess it'll come down to salary cap pressure.

The clubs get preferences taken into it as well

Great analysis and suggestions @Vicious

I just can't see many more incomings & just have a feeling that Jack Bird will see out his contract with us.

I certainly can see Siosifa Talakai coming in & being a lock rotation with AD (to provide a burst of impact) plus add versatility to the bench for backrow, middle & centre.

Have been an advocate for Corey Allan too as a depth outside back but would prefer Albert Hopoate for his upside (although risky). Have a feeling this spot may be given to Izaak Tui'tupou though.

Tyson Smoothy would be awesome but not sure he'd get quit on his ESL commitment before even starting it. Can see Soni Luke being given a pre-season T&T to put a case forward.

Fletcher Baker or Jack Hetherington as that depth prop with experience.
For an outside back id look at Fletcher Myer just released from Souths before Corey Allen. He's young, would be cheaper and the kid is way faster than Allen with a higher potential upside

Given we have 3 spots currently & what's on the market my 3 purchases would be:

1. Jonah Pezet (1 Year Loan) - Considering Latu is out early in the year & again will miss pre-season, Jonah for a year is smart option. Means Doueihi can be used as a Utility, Lock or Right Centre depth if required. All other backline positions we have depth for.

2. Siosifa Talaki - Exactly what we need can play Centre, Backrow or Middle. Depth everywhere we need & impact from the bench while Latu is out.

3. Tui Kamikamica - The middle forward depth we need. Fijian, comes from a good system & is about to play a Grand Final. Would not break the bank, will be in & out the 17.

Based on what we have plus the 3 signings.

1. Bula/Mason
2. Turuva/L Lualili
3. Toa/Bird
4. TayMay/Saukuru
5. Makasini/Skelton
6. Luai/Andrews
7. Pezet* (L Fainu)/Madden
8. TeyMay/Seyfarth
9. Korosaui/Hope
10. Si Fainu/K Lualili
11. Sa Fainu/Geyer
12. Pearce-Paul/Sukkar
13. Twal/Murray
14. Doueihi/Haywood
15. Pole/Goodinet
16. Talaki*/Roberts
17. Hunt/Taupua-Moors
18. Kamikamica*/Broderlow

I would say Mapapalangi, Thompson, Rahme and a few others will get Cup/T&T contracts to assist with centre depth which seems the obvious shortage.
