Josh Dugan could be forced out of Cronulla following the Ramien signing. Should we chase him for the right price?

1. Dugan
2. Thompson
3. Momirovski
4. Mbye
5. Nofoaluma
6. Marshall
7. Brooks

$6.50 and a Bunnings voucher for gaffa tape..sounds about the right price..

Geez Geo, ur generous

Lots of people said "No thanks" to DWZ and when he moved to the Dogs and played with some confidence he has looked very good. There is no player that has experience, x-factor, speed, no injury history, never makes errors, no scandals and is cheap.

DWZ and Dugan both have some negatives but are worth the risk at a certain dollar figure.
Dugan might be great for 2 years or he might spend 3/4 of his time injured, it's about assessing risk and reward. Make an offer based on that and if he refuses or gets a better one then so be it.

There's probably a price that makes Dugan a worthwhile gamble but it's closer to minimum salary than $500k a year.

DWZ is not a reasonable comparison, though. DWZ is 24 and you can make a case that he never had the right combination of coaching and opportunity to show his hype was justified at Penrith. Dugan is 29 and his capabilities are very well known. You'd be gambling on him being able to recover form he hasn't shown for several years, whereas with DWZ you're gambling that he can unlock some potential that's still to be realised. Very different circumstances.

Jed Bogan the Bruce Reid of the NRL. The guys still under warranty as he has clocked up so little games due injury.

Also he has super glue hands, the ball never leaves them. When he puts a good game together it’s a very good one, but you get about one a year.

Absolutely not. He is prone to injury and concussion. Dugan would be a poor signing no matter what the price is.

Agree. And currently on $750k a year. Stay well clear, Tigers.

Great player

I think you mean good player. Great gets thrown around to easily.

He was a great signing, if not such as a player.

The point was that every player is a gamble. DWZ wants to be fullback and didn't a great attitude when Panther were not doing well. He has had a few injuries. People on this forum said he was not a fullback and had already shown the limit of his potential.

Asses the risk and make an offer. If the club decides Dugan is worth 300k, make the offer and stick to it.

It may be extend some players careers if contracts were offered as guaranteed payment then x dollars per game played, at the start of a career the minimum is higher, at the end the game payments are higher.

I think that would share the risk a bit more evenly, at the moment the risk is all on the club

Aidan Montano: Will the Tigers get any decent signings for next year - primarily forwards??

The Lurker: There's a big story brewing with the Tigers which you'd like to think won't impact this game on Sunday. But it's impossible not to think it will. At least four high-profile players are filthy with the way they've been treated in regards to knowing what their future looks like.

We know Matulino, Packer and Reynolds have been told they can find another club, while you would've seen on Nine news on Tuesday night club stalwart Chris Lawrence forced to take his story to the media of the ridiculous $100k offer he's received. When was the last time you heard Lawrence say anything negative about the club? It gives you an insight into how much he's hurting.

There's another rising star, who has been outstanding in the backs for them this season, who is also close to going public with the way the club has handled his negotiations. There's several reporters trying to get to the bottom of the drama to break it as we speak.

This happens at every club surely????Media are up there with player managers 🤬

I'm sure the primadonas can find the exit door themselves....

@tigerap let’s be honest, the ones that get upset are the ones that cannot get offers else where.if Tedesco was available tomorrow,I bet all NRL and English clubs are on the phone and Teddy doesn’t whinge about it because he has options.these guys probably don’t have that luxury.

Yeah the likes of Packer Matulino McQueen Taylor Lawrence (although he deserves more from the club)

Didn't include Reynolds because he just takes it all in his stride

Its totally understandable that the club can't commit to any upgrades, extensions or even new signings, when they don't know what the off season holds for the likes of Packer, Matulino and Reynolds.

If these guys futures were known then I'm sure the club would be moving forwards in regards to extensions and signings.

Thanks Ivan (Pascoe can wear some of the blame also).

I'm a bit disappointed with Chris actually and Emma. Keep it out of the media until the off season and Emma, just stay clear on commenting on your brothers contract imo.
