Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Broncos have Reynolds and Paix on cheap deals, manly letting go of DCE, Sharks have Kennedy on 350k

Moses is on 1.3 not 1.4 and Iongi is on 400k
reyno’s new deal was cheap but that’s for next year and they still acquired ben on $500k with ezra and billy all there too it adds up. hynes Trindall and brailey are all on big long term deals, no offence to Kennedy but he’s not worth much.
also api look less in his new deal.

Okay but our spine is still worth 3+ million. With the amount we are paying them we should be a lot more competitive then what we are

The roster isn’t going to improve much over the next few years

It’s up there

Bula 800k, Luai 1.2m, Fainu 500k, Api 700k

Knights and Storm definitely more but I think we are in the top 4 most expensive spines
This time next week it will be Bula 1m, Luai 1.2m, Fainu 500k and Api 700k

3.4m combined value and I’ve seen a few reports stating Luai’s contract is 1.25m

Compare that to the Broncos with Walsh 1.2m, Mam 800k, Reynolds 600k and Hunt 600k
We will be paying more for our spine than what the Broncos are paying for their spine.

Easy let Bula walk and save some $$

we're negotiating with Bula for less money and a longer deal that benefits all parties, including his ratbag manager. Luai's deal includes TPAs so it's less than $1.2m on the cap, Latu is the only one you've managed to get correct, and Api is on less than $700k and actually took a paycut for his latest extension.

they're only going to get better with more time together and better understanding of the system and their roles. start backing them.

Joke to think that Bula or his manager would value himself @ $200K less than Walsh - someone who can single-handedly change the course of a game (the try in the grand final and the tackle on Papenhyuzen ) kicks in general play and kicks goals as well. He' not even close to be valued at 1/2 what Walsh is on. He's not even in the top 6 -7 fullbacks in the comp.

I love Jahream but ultimately yes he isn't worth $900k when you compare his output to other elite fullbacks. I think he'll take a pretty significant leap forward over the offseason, but I'm glad that the club is looking to renegotiate his pay packet while giving him the long-term deal he deserves.

How is this information known?
I’m not saying it’s not true, but very hard to believe Jahream via Isaac will take less than the current 2027 contract option to remain with us.
Likewise it would be great if we are paying Luai less than 1.2 million out of our salary cap as there were reports back when we signed him that we were paying him 1.2m plus the TPA’s.
Api was a high priority for the Perth Bears and he publicly stated he was very interesting in returning to where it all started for him, so it’s surprising if he accepted less than 700k to extend with us.
There has been reports stating Latu and Samuela’s contracts were back ended and we are actually paying more than 500k for them over the next couple of years. Are those reports false ?

If it's 3.75 million over 5 years then that's better than one year at 800k for Jarheem...

Gotta hope that we can get internal growth . The players and talent is there. Hopefully all the identified issues with the pathways can bare some fruit with all the changes made .
