Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I agree that he is critical to their success …. But any team will struggle without their best player …

Parramatta is always looking to improve their roster..whether it’s off season , mid season ..whenever …it’s about the churn and burn… we are the set and forget …. Guys like Matamua, Feledy, Tumeth should have been moved on at the end of 24 at the latest
Agree but the issue of moving them on to someone who wants them or having to pay out contract at an agreed amount. I think identification of deadwood and moving them on instead of taking up roster spots is a tricky business but some clubs seem a lot more ruthless at that than WT

Matamua, Feledy and Tumeth were impossible to move on realistically. terrible decisions made by a different football department. look at Parramatta with Matterson, they’ve had some failures themselves in terms of moving players on.

Ryles did a great job building the roster in his image so quickly, but just because he did it faster than us doesn’t necessarily mean it is better. I’d take our forward pack over theirs every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

This is my issue ..other teams can move on their deadwood but we can’t … there still seems an environment that players are comfortable to turn up punch a clock and collect a pay check …but not at other clubs …those three guys I mentioned account for 10 percent of the squad in number .. but were never even considered for selection throughout the year that I can recall…

I’m going to benchmark ourselves against them for 2026 ,,,they are one of our biggest rivals and we have been pretty much on par with them last 2 seasons … there is no reason I can think of why they should be getting better any quicker than we are

Then we’ll see how we go compared with Parramatta next year … I think they have gone from on par with us to the next level above us
Last year it came to the last game for them to best us.

This year they bested us (won more games - and loss by less)
with a new coaching staff and without their best Player for most of the year (And the Brown stuff)
While we're here blaming a 19 year old for derailing our season?

They're a better team than us (As much as that pains me), Even watching them play they looked more likely than we do. There's more to like about their game than ours atm
- And I'll think they'll best us again next year.

their key is Moses, he stays fit they'll run top 6. he's the best half in the comp, he'll drag them there on his own if he has to.

I'd argue our squad is actually better man for man but Moses is genuinely that good that he makes them a better side than us, as much as it pains me to say it.
But will Moses stay sound that is the question, seems over the latest seasons he spends big chunks of it on the sidelines and they drop out of the 8 for yet another season.

Away with the Kangaroos instead of giving the body a rest, Parra supporters will be nervous.

Don't think Parra's signings have been better than ours. They were no doubt playing much better football than us at the end of last year though. Moses is an elite half and Ryles has done a great job.

On another note, looking forward to all the people who were rallying against us signing NAS coming out and complaining that we haven't signed anyone when Parra snap him up...

We are paying a half the same amount as Moses …although I would say he is not as good a player …

Parramatta has won one more game than us each or the last two years … we should be comparing ourselves to them in my view and the fans should share the same positive expectations

If all our forward pack rise to new levels for the new season, we should hold our own against Parra.
That's provided we don't have all the disruption in the halves like we did, whoever is selected at 7 needs to get through the season without injury.

The attacking structure is where we need to improve to nudge ahead of them, Parra run with good shape when they have the ball, much better than us.

This is where we will find out if Benji's coaching has the right stuff,
no more running around with indecision the players need to know their role.

I’ve asked a million times what 6/7 means . I get nothing but laughs ….
Ah well I can tell you what it means - it means nothing. It's a meme, it's just something all the kids say and they don't really care about the origin of it.

The origin is a 2024 rap song that was quoted in some online videos, then it became a popular reference with NBA players (who of course were 6'7"), and now kids say it because they do, and because the sequence of 6-7 is common as a sort of day-to-day lottery.

Not to dissimilar to "skibidi" which also has no specific agreed meaning.

I'm not a child of the internet so I don't quite understand the use of meaningless meme phrases or how they catch on.

If we didn't drop those 2 games against the cows and tits, sorry I bought that up I know it still burns, would we feel like we had the better season, well it would have looked better on the ladder.

We didn't hear about this

Weeks after a grand final loss, a Melbourne Storm star is set to be sentenced alongside his brother over a melee outside a Lebanese restaurant.

Second-rower Shawn Blore, 25, and his brother Dean have each pleaded guilty to a single assault charge stemming from the July 2024 incident.
How can you get into a fight with a patron at a restaurant.

If you don't go looking for fights, you have no issues.

So many dikheads in the NRL.

Yeah - I'm hopeful, Not real optimistic though...
Our shape in attack is dogshit (As you've alluded to) - Parras' looks decent and they do it at speed...
We might find shape, Speed we won't find in a hurry...

Dylan Walker, Zac Lomax ,Longi, Addo Carr, Da Silva … they continued to upgrade the squad throughout the last season
Id argue that our signings pre-season were better; Luai, Terrell and Turuva - all starting players, where as walker is a #14.

And Taylan May midseason vs Da Silva.. Taylan wins hands down every day and they are almost on the same money

Also Jack Williams who we should have signed.
They have developed the likes of Kitione Kautoga, Kelma Tuilagi and Matt Doorey and into very good NRL players.
They were smart enough to realise it’s a big advantage to have a 13 with ball playing ability and/or speed and moved J’maine Hopgood to prop which is proving to be very successful.
So they are now at the stage where they are a much more skillful team than us, a much faster team than us and a much more aggressive team than us.
We are no chance of finishing higher than them in 2026 and no chance of finishing higher than the Rabbitohs in 2026.

Yes, we have done OK in the forwards, now the next hole to be plugged is definitely more speed in the outside backs.

Two spots left, could the club have identified this and are on the lookout, you would like to think so.
