A lot of noise going around that Keon is every chance of leaving the Rabbits.

Parra and Dragons are both interested. Unsure on us as a club but given the history of Keon with both Benji and Richo wouldn’t be surprised at all if we’ve picked up the phone.

He completes the puzzle for us as a football team imo and we have plenty of cap space to afford Keon and then some so can’t see why people would be against it.

Looks like a top 8 side to me.

This would be amazing. I've heard (for a while now) that we've been targeting a big-name forward from up north and have been getting our cap ready to make a big offer. My thoughts were Tio or Haas. But i actually believe Keon would be a better fit and on a little less coin.

Agree. For clubs like ours, we really have to play a money ball type strategy with the salary cap as we don't have the lure YET of the more successful clubs for external players.

Keaon is at the peak of his powers so we'd be paying maximum value for him to get him here.

Good strategy would be to identify the middle with upside who we could go hard for whilst other clubs battle for Keaon. As @jrtiger suggested, Liam Henry would be a great one and imo offers more than what Pole has delivered thus far.

Some much needed common sense in this post.

People are fawning over Keon like he’s Payne Hass. He’s had one top shelf season under Wayne Bennett and will be 29 in his first season with us if we signed him and people want to pay him $900k. No thanks.

It means that playing for Manly lower grades would be the right place for him, promised so much but delivered so little.
But I only just found out that Blacktown is no longer the feeder club for Manly, so he won’t be playing there.

I’m not saying I’d pay $950k for KK, but people need to get their head around that the salary cap is going up 20-25% when the new Broadcast deal is done …so you start changing your mindset accordingly what players are worth … we aren’t signing him for $700k…

Media reported it when the signing was being done, can that be trusted well I'll leave that up to your judgement but what else is there to go off the club isn't going to advertise it, loose lipped friends our player agents probably the source.

The player market will explode if quite a few big names sign with R360 which is rumoured to be happening.
It’s not a good thing for us as higher profile clubs will all of a sudden have plenty of money to spend.

thought bud was off the books after a 200 -150 tip in this year, master bateman 1 more year 350 -400 ?
KPP was relative cheap , and Taylon is playing us
Heaps of contracts need 27 rollover ,
Some tease they know our cap but really give a $ value to it when put on the spot
