We have him at 550 next 2 years...he took a pay cut of 100k each year..and Bennett didn't wanna pay more than $250k ..supposedly
That leaves a 200k gap ...not much less than were paying Madden
Feels like lose lose but the mistake was buying Bud for 550 x 4 in the first place and its expensive to undo
Anyway..KPP and Taylon are about 650 each..both quality players..but they're gonna compensate for the cheaper discards really quickly
So doubt we have a war chest of $ but can only hope

I thought he was on 500k not 600k (re Sullivan). Looking above someone saying 550k...
so much money for 4 years... He wasn't nothing, but he was an unproven halfback.
At least we seem to have learned this lesson.

I reckon you’re a little on the cap/glass half empty side, but probably not too far off.
I thought we paid out of Bates contract on that last deal and we’re free for it for this season? And like some others, same with Bud, he took a cut and got more time from the bunnies and Richo got us out of it for this season? I could be wrong, Mrs BF says so all the time.
I had the impression we had enough for one and half good buys, so somewhere around the 1.5mil mark +\~
Maybe I’m being a little cap/glass half full?
Regardless of how much coin we have, please Richo tell me you got us out of Sheenius’s Bateman contract by now. 🙏

None of US actually know of course...
But if u add May and KPP...high priced items....lose half a dozen 200-300k guys(which we did)..& .replace them with Bunty Geyer Attard and co..plus then throw in Buds deal..weve probably spent more in 26 than 25 Im thinking
Hope Im wrong...and we may have pulled forward Bud into 2025

But Im not thinking were gonna be signing Tino anytime soon!

When working out how much cap space we have available, we also need to factor in potential upgrades to existing players who we intend on keeping long term.
Terrell is currently on a 660k contract. Whether we like it or not he won’t extend unless we upgrade him and will likely expect some sort of immediate upgrade.
I assume it will be a similar situation with Bula, Skelton, Sam and Sione Fainu.
So yes we should have a bit of money to spend for 2027 onwards, but I don’t think it’s any more than multiple other NRL clubs, so it will be easier said than done trying to recruit any high profile players.
When in this situation the only real option is to take a punt on identifying and overpaying up and coming players based on potential or identifying ageing players who can be signed at a lower price due to their age, but still have some good years left in them.

Only the top knobs at the club would know the room left on the cap we can only speculate, unless Richo comes out and tells us where we're at it will be kept quiet, as it should be.
Pretty sure he did Bud.
Wasn’t there an interview with him a little while back where he said there’s ‘a bit of room in next years cap, not a lot - but a bit’
Seen a big list of exits a bit back - no mention of May and KPP… both big money recruits.
