As an example I reckon Bevan French has enough class that he could quit Wigan to come and play in the NRL in 2027 as a right sided 5/8 at age 30 and still be very dominant.
I know it is very unlikely to happen as he is contracted to Wigan, but he has developed into a high class ball playing 5/8 in his time in the UK and not many halves in the NRL have his same quality and vision.
Jez Litten looks a quality number 9 who would do very well in the NRL.
There are some very good young outside backs including Zach Eckersley at Wigan and Harry Robertson at St Helens.
I reckon James McDonnell currently with Leeds and signed for Perth Bears next season will surprise a few people with his ability.
There is also a couple of good young emerging halves including Ewan Irwin who could be a once in a generation talent and I’m surprised no NRL club made him an offer too good to refuse before he re-signed with Warrington.

Jack Cole is signed with Perth Bears.
It’s likely Jett Cleary will partner Nathan Cleary in the halves for the Panthers next season and they still also have Jack Cogger.
I reckon the Panthers would let Blaize Talagi go if he was keen to leave, so he would definitely be an option if we were either moving Doueihi to 13 or letting him head elsewhere.

Yeah it will be interesting if we do get Blaize. I have viewed hom more as a centre or fullback than a 6. He plays centre today, so it will be interesting to see how he defends there.

At age 20 he has already had over 12 months experience playing against and being dominant against men in the Qld Cup, he was a team mate of Javon Andrews in the QLD u/19’s team that beat NSW in 2025 and is big enough, tough enough and good enough to play prop, even though he is a natural 13 with good speed and agility and a crisp passing game.
He is the real deal and will be a quality NRL player sooner than later, hoping he is someone we are looking at in a position we desperately need.

I’ve just been to the Q cup semi between Capras and Ipswich at Aurizon Stadium and kept a close eye on Lewis Symonds playing lock for Capras.

My opinion is he was average, did not stand out but did his job. He tackled well and ran hard but didn’t break the line. Small sample.

Thanks for the update, I didn’t get a chance to watch any of today’s game.
He is only 20y.o which I think was the youngest player in the game, but good to now the opinion of someone who watched the game live.
Who were the best players on the field?

Sorry mate just finished watching Panthers v Roosters on tv.

In my opinion fullback Banjo Walker was dangerous every time he had the ball and caught every bomb they aimed at him. Trey Brown controlled the game pretty well at hooker and kicked well. The PNG guys always run hard and tackle hard but some of them have hands like feet. Valentine Richard was a monster in defence some of his hits rattled ribs.

Plenty of people were regularly bringing it up well before me.
I don’t know if it would work or be a realistic option, what I do know it our attack is suffering as a result of having props with very minimal speed off the mark and very minimal attacking threat playing as our 13 for 80 minutes each game.
Obviously Benji agrees this is an issue as he was wanting to play Doueihi at 13 and he gave Heath Mason some time there at the back end of the season.

I think I read somewhere that Banjo Walker played a lot of his junior rep football in same teams as Ryder Huth who played for our Jersey Flegg team this season.
