I literally laid it all out in another post! If you can score a Brad abbey type for 100k whilst pursuing 2 x A list recruits . That’s a good thing !
There’s only so much cap space to go around !
At this point , it’s pretty clear we need at least 2 front line stars! That’s at least 1.4-1.6 mil !
How is it ,do you think we fill the remaining squad positions , if we have 2 mil and 5 -6 positions ????

I'll post something positive when I see something positive .....maybe Barry O'Farrell possibly leaving is something positive or is Marina Go getting forced out positive

Maybe stop choosing to ignore the obvious ....lots of stuff happening at the WT's isn't positive

Every time I read your posts, and @gallagher , as well, it’s always negative.
How is this team not light years better than the one from 2 years ago ?
Sure we had , teddy woods and Moses , but at no stage did you watch them and think , yep I really like watching this team .
The first few weeks of the Cleary regime and everyone was making comments like “it’s been a long time since I’ve watched a tigers team I can truely get behind “ .
To act like it’s still 2017 and Taylor ball is in full affect is , to b honest , BORING .

Well this sounds like a Tigers day.. We release Marsters and Matterson and sign Abby ... Unfortunately its no surprise for me as this is just the norm. :rage: :rage:
I know its more for reserve grade but the longer this rubbish goes on the less likely we sign anyone decent.. WE are just bottom feeders and its driving me nuts..

Apparently we've signed Brad Abbey.

Very clever move. Improves our negotiating position with Lattrel and AJ. Here is the offer if you can find better good luck, but we are not going to pay stupid overs. We have the more than capable Brad Abbey to cover the fullback position.

I always knew Brad Abbey would be the first domino to fall this offseason.

I wouldn't believe the story about Valentine Holmes and Toronto for one minute.

Don't forget the Super League also has a salary cap still, and it's actually lower than the NRL.

The reason they could throw so much money at SBW is Super League clubs get an exemption from the salary cap for one marquee player. If it's true SBW has signed with them then they couldn't afford to throw much at Valentine Holmes


Super League has a salary Cap "Marquee" exemption if you attract a player from another code, which is why they are targetting Holmes (from NFL).

Is that on top of the one marquee signing outside the cap - SBW. I have never seen it written anywhere that they can have more than 1 marquee signing. Plus SBW was a marquee signing from another code anyway.

Upside - another good junior prospect who with the right coaching could be playing FG in a couple of seasons. People need to relax about Abbey - we need a competitive State Cup team and he'll help there.
