By the way, I was chatting to an old school mate that I hadn't seen for 41 years on Tuesday. He was always a die hard Roosters supporter and still is. When I corrected the name of his team from Roosters to Rorters he looked at me and smiled. Taking this as encouragement, I pressed him by saying, 'so the Roosters rort the cap by using brown paper bags and creative management to stack their roster?' Once again, he smiled at me and said, 'Of course'.

To further reinforce the argument, I bumped into Warren Wilson on Thursday. We had a general chat first before, once more, I grabbed the opportunity to probe about the state of the game and that it seems to all be set up to support the strong/ favoured clubs to the detriment of clubs like the Tigers. He responded with a nod of his head and said that he felt disenchanted with the game at the moment. He also suggested that Greenberg was out of his depth and heard that NRL Headquarters was full of incompetent employees who did basically nothing.

It's interesting that our own fans get filthy at the club for not being able to sign players when the NRL turns a blind eye to the obvious flaws in a system that is meant to be fair for all. The general NRL fan base all believe that it's being rorted and still the media make jokes about it.

I would chase Doueihi, but 500k would be absolutely max ( i wouldn't even want to pay that), I can't believe he is signed for more next year.

He would be first choice fullback this year, long term would depend on how he goes and who we can sign at the end of this season. Future would likely be as Benji's long term replacement.

As previously stated I would steer well clear of AJ. He is off contract at the end of this season, not that good, and I don't see clubs falling over themselves to sign him. Depending on how he goes this year, if we do want him we could pick him up where we have the negotiating power, and there is no current contract value to be met.

Douehi has been in the Balmain system and would know quite a few of our players including Seyfarth. If we want to build from the ground up, bringing him over with his current NRL experience is a wise move. He will play 1 or in the halves. I know he has a huge long distance kicking game and as we saw with Brooks, short kicking is a matter of practice. Increasing our pace on the wings will also increase his effectiveness.

He is only a slight reject, really has "Tiger" in his blood.

So I will overlook his error on this occasion, if he signs with us.

If not he can go to purgatory with all the other Souffs mongrels.

I saw enough of Douehi playing fullback for Souths at the backend of last season to convince me he has the goods and will only get better. He is a far, far better option than AJ who I feel has already reached his ceiling. If we want him to play fullback, then we will have to offer him fullback money.

I know many Souths fans are not happy at the prospect of Douehi having to leave, he is held in very high regard. I know them getting Mitchell is supposedly seen as a big coup for the club, but his signing is not as much of a ‘gloat’ for Souths fans as it is for big arse Richardson, slimey Bennett and fake Crowe, especially if good up and comers like Douehi are told they have to make way for him.

One can only hope that Mitchell will end up being a Blair type signing where good players were let go to accommodate him, only for him to turn out a dud. That probably won’t happen in this instance, but it doesn’t hurt to dream about some karma coming back to bite that shonky trio on the arse and wipe the stupid grins off their ugly faces... just for once.

I can see many people on here still giving it to the club for not having a major signing yet....I tend to sit back and wait until something positive is released by the club,when that is,I don't know...
From seeing what is going on atm,I honestly believe that Madge and co don't want to make the same mistakes like in the past;I also believe that with so many young guys in the system atm,Madge seems to want to create from within..I remember when we had some great young players when Sheens was here and he got that legend Gareth Ellis to the club,that was great...maybe Madge is working on the same formula as it seems to work for us...just my opinion though...

Bennett also saw enough of Adam Doueihi to tell him he was the clubs first choice no.1. Before Mitchell turned up.

I don't have a problem with signing Douehi,I just think Madge is looking for the best outcome for the team and club without wasting time and money just to get a signature..I do have faith in Madge,Pascoe and co to not make the same errors as in the past...the old saying is ''learn from your mistakes''..
