I can see many people on here still giving it to the club for not having a major signing yet....I tend to sit back and wait until something positive is released by the club,when that is,I don't know...
From seeing what is going on atm,I honestly believe that Madge and co don't want to make the same mistakes like in the past;I also believe that with so many young guys in the system atm,Madge seems to want to create from within..I remember when we had some great young players when Sheens was here and he got that legend Gareth Ellis to the club,that was great...maybe Madge is working on the same formula as it seems to work for us...just my opinion though...

If we are negotiating then we should definitely go in hard. I watched him in the semis last year and he was outstanding. It doesn't seem to be a flash in the pan because he did this in the pressure cooker of the playoffs. Therefore, he has talent and he copes with pressure. He is young, a Tigers junior who excelled at that level and he wants to play first grade in a position that we need bolstering. He ticks the boxes of a ball playing fullback and a possible replacement for Benji in 2021. To all those detractors who claim he's too much of a utility, this wasn't a reflection of his lack of mastery of one position, it's more an indication of Souths's needs at the time and the fact that there was a log jam in front of him. Look at Darren Lockyer, started at fullback, where he was brilliant, and ended up being an elite five eighth. While I'm not saying Doueihi will become another Lockyer, I am saying that versatility needn't be a negative.

Now, the cash, 500k is being bandied about and, once again, many people are saying that it's too much, including Pascoe, allegedly. If we get him for 350-400, well and good, but do we spurn the opportunity because 500 is what's required? I'm not sure that's a good idea. Beggars can't be choosers. We have a million to spend, there are 3 spots are available, we sadly lack attacking flair and there aren't many options out there. Why wouldn't you chase him? I say go in hard and make it happen. It will be another missed opportunity that we'll live to regret if we don't.

I heard from a Souths connection they were interested in a trade for Seyfarth and Stefano and it was presumed Douehi was one of the players mentioned. It doesn't mean we were interested in Douehi, just that Souths wanted our two and that may have been a deal we may have been interested in.

Why would we swap two of our best up and coming forwards when we can afford to buy both Souths players? Also, Souths have to fit quite a few players into their roster/cap so I find it a stretch they could afford both of our players.

You don't do damage to your cap and immediate signing prospects by "doing something" like signing 2 or 3 players at overs for long terms e.g. Reynolds, Mbye, Jennings etc.

That is correct, but you don't do nothing to improve your 2020 roster while you make decisions that make your opponents stronger!

Conversely unless we do something we won’t be competitive in 2020. Backline is atrocious. Need to roll the dice and not be scared of mistakes of the past. No point sitting back watching the comp just pass us by.

No I am not happy with the decisions we have made this offseason, we are heading into 2020 with a weaker top 30 than 2019 while our decisions have made our opposition stronger. I am over hearing that next year will be better, we are in January 2020 and people are already saying we are building for 2021.

All we have to do is get him to sign for 375k. and for Souffs to release him.

We get a bargain and he gets his 500k.

Everyone is happy.

This club has been trying to get it right for the last 9 years, I don't think it is too much to expect an improved top 30 for 2020? There is nothing new that the club has implemented that we haven't tried in the past, it wasn't that long ago we had the best crop of juniors coming through and that got us nowhere.

I'm not expecting a miracle overnight, I just want to see a better team than we fielded last year and as of right now that will not be the case!
