Oliver Clark - I heard from an extended family member, this will be his last year playing NRL...he plans to retire and focus on running the family business....apparently the family are fairly well off.

Plodder

Yeah I am sure he has upside (somewhere) but I have really never rated Clark and he doesn’t even come onto my radar when picking the 2020 NRL side.

I think he gets a spot purely because we don’t have many other great options for front row, I’m hoping Alex Seyfarth really develops and earns himself a first grade spot by the end of the year because he’s a GIANT

Doesn’t look as big in photos

This is him on the far right

I remember when Sirro first packed into a Scrum after his time in Hawaii. He was so big he couldn't fit in the front row and had to play 2nd Row. Then along came Ian Roberts at Souffs and the era of the really big man began. Seyfarth is massive.

Eisenhuth is tal too.
Massive cat tho.

Hopefully Seyfarth has a bit more ticker.

??

Dude averages 35 tackles a game and 94 metres a game. Not bad for a bloke who came back from cancer.

He's not barnstorming but he's certainly not a cat either. A dependable workhorse.

Wow. Interesting.
Neil Begovich 2.0

If Clark is seriously planning on retiring why are we bothering to put the time into him

Let him go now and put our time and efforts into the future of the club

Why?
How is it different from letting Robbie play knowing he was going to retire?
If he is professional, putting in and wins his spot - let him play.
He was a surprise last year, never know we might convince him to stay around a few more seasons.

Harry Grant to weststigers I think is a kick in the guts for Billy Walters and Jake Simpkin , absolute show of no faith in these 2

Simpkin is a development player, Walters is cover and Liddle is injured. How is it a kick in the guts?

Logic eh?

Haha.

Stats are stats and they don't win u games.

He is probably our most non threatening player.

Elijah has him beat as the dependable workhorse.

Hes a big for nothing pillow cat.

I hope the Garner has put on a few kilo's and is ready for this season, as he will be used as our go to back rower to run off Brooks and Benji out wide. Last season he weighed in under 100kgs, and Madge has asked him to bulk up by eating fast foods before hitting the gym this season.

I’m sure he’s been working hard, Madge told Twal to bulk up too and looking at him at the members day he looks bigger then ever. Garner is in for a massive year.

Just looking forward a bit to 2021 .....we are going to have some more cap space and spots in the top 30 at the end of this season, so how do we keep improving, and who do we want to bring into, our squad?
I reckon if Frizell is any chance of leaving the Dragons we should make him a real priorty. He is a guy that would really be great for us. His aggressive style could really bring our younger forwards on and he could be a real leader in our pack. Obviously we will want JAC or some speedy winger. And we will need a quality fullback if AD ends up moving to 5/8 to take over from Benji.
I assume a few of our development players and possibly juniors will come into the 30 taking the place of a few players that aren’t looking like contributing.

Very exciting times, lots of young talent already here and Madge has shown he’s adept at handling the salary cap, being patient and smart and making good signings.

A big boost to our signings hopes next year would be making the top 8 this year

I'm tipping a good year for Garner, Twal and Lucy .. !! All young forwards wanting to impress .. !!

A cat wouldn't run the ball or get involved that much in defence.

Braith Anasta is a cat. Huth is workhorse. Every team has them, they can't all be Payne Haas or Marty Taupau.

Is this a good thing?, we’re not sending him into a nightclub to pick up chicks, he’s required in the front row and penetration of this kind is priority.

Shouldn't he be off to the Roosters then? I heard that's what you do when money isn't the primary factor, because you family is already wealthy.

Also - weird one for Clark, I mean your heart and head have to be in the game, but I would say he's on the cusp of cementing himself as a FT regular; you think he'd go another contract or two before settling back to business. Another 2-3 years at a few hundred K wouldn't set you astray as a young fellow; he's only 23.

Or maybe he sees the writing on the wall and the calibre of forward Tigers are trying to bring in.

Personally I think he's got a lot of upside Clark; quite similar to Huth but I guess they both lack hitup firepower, though I appreciate their motors and ruck work.

How does Elijah go 1-1 with other big forwards though, especially defending your own goal-line?

I think ET and Huth are both decent footballers, and yes Tigers can't afford to have a pack full of honest tackle machines, but they aren't comparable as footballers. ET has line speed and likes to work the ruck, but Huth dominates the ruck with his clinical defence. If ET was the size of Huth people would call him a plodder as well.

Here's our engine room's age, heights and weights:

Sorry left Michael CheeKam off the list: age: 27 - height: 192 - weight: 100

So looking at that photo im guessing some members are now a lot heavier, or have trimmed down a little .. to what is reported on the Tigers homepage.
