Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we were prepared to give a massive deal to Moses shouldn't we be offering the same amount of money to an established star. Not to Miller, who couldn't cut it here after NYC or Lui who is a serial woman basher

No…..not im my opinion anyway.

The money is best serve delivering us a forward pack that can compete week in week out. Thats priority number one. Now that the sook has left we can achieve that. No use signing Foran or Widdop to play behind our cream puffs. We have signed one forward in McQueen and we now need to sign at least 2 more. 3 more if Woods leaves.

Fair point. I'm basing my opinion on the fact we've signed Matulino, which is not 100%.
If Teddy and Woods go,we'll be in the market for a gun 6 and 2 Rep forwards

Probably opening myself up to a wee bit of backlash here but we dont get coverage of lower grades in nz… if moses leaves in the coming weeks, is jeremy marahall-king a credible option at 6?

Weve only had one of his games televised, he was playing hooker but wearing 6.

Dont know too much about him, played touch against him and he was a freak but obviously that doesnt necessariy transfer

He's been a 9\. for the past 2 seasons, very whole hearted in the 4-5 games I've seen him play. Doesn't shirk defence. Not sure if the Club view him as a 6.

If Woods leaves we can sign two forwards on the coin he's reportedly being offered. You don't necessarily need to spend a lot of money to get a good forward pack, you just have to spend it wisely. Look for players being under-utilised like Paul Vaughn was at Canberra, or Jarrod Wallace at the Broncos last year. Third, fourth or fifth props at their currents clubs that have the potential to be second props. Kane Evans, Albert Vete and Patrick Kaufusi seem to fit the bill. The club already seems to be onto a replacement pack leader in Ben Matulino if we lose Woods.

I'd love Felise Kaufusi but I'm pretty sure Melbourne will keep their man there.

Whats everyones thoughts on bringing Jacob Miller back? He would have gained some experience over in the ESL.

No thanks.

From all reports hasnt shone enough over there to suggest he is NRL quality.

The ex-Tiger doing very well over there is Rob Lui. Killinh it for Salford.

Obviously there are non-football reasons why many on here wouldnt want him back.

Interesting, I haven't had a chance to see any of them play.

I have only seen the odd package. But Salford is coming 2nd (came 10th last year) and all reports Ive read have suggested that Lui has been the catalyst for their resurgence.

Its funny. What Lui did was close to the lowest thing a person can do, and I probably don't want him for football reasons, but non-football reasons just don't come into my reckoning when I assemble a footy team. For the same reason I would have no problem with recruiting Russell Packer or Danny Wicks. I had no problem with cheering the blues side that included Greg Bird.

I have no desire to like or be friends with players in the team I support.

We dont need another halfback as we have Brooks. We need an experienced 5/8 who can run the ball and take that pressure of brooks.

Should look at Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad. Is with the warriors at the moment, but came through the Melbourne system. Can play almost any position in the backline, but think he is more at home in the halves or fullback.

I would let Woods walk….for $800k a year plus we can get 2 very solid 1st grade forwards and some of the young talent coming through at other clubs should be snapped up. Apart from maybe Fifita, no forward is going to win you a grandfinal and due to injuries, rep committments etc a club needs a good pool of avail talent in this area for the long season.
I like Ivan's attitude of "on the bus".....for too long we have accomodated players who "don't know" if they want to be at the Tigers, and I'm over it just like every other Tigers fan is.

Re: Taane Milne,

There was talk recently that we were interested in him. Does anyone have any info on him, he didn't play in yesterday's ISP game and is not listed on the Dragons website injured list.

Was watching the super league yesterday & was very impressed by Alex Walmsley in a 12 man St Helens side. 1966cm 115kgs Front rower. Anyone know much more about him?

“I’ve assured the Broncos I have no interest in talking to anyone else,” said Roberts’ uncle and manager Jeremy Donovan.

Yeah I'd like to see where he stands with all that money going to other players now… eventually he'l have to weigh up his future financially

Roberts has nothing between his ears, absolutely nothing. No way you would put him in the spine. Bloke probably has to eat sandwiches with knife and fork so he doesnt bite his fingers.

Roberts has speed, and nothing else. No footwork or anything….no thanks in my opinion

He's an awesome player lmao use are kidding yourselves
