Watched NRL 360 last night and the intimation by Paul Kent that Widdop, Matulino and Packer are on the radar was no surprise.
Widdop is problematic, Matulino I reckon is in the cool and I also think that Packer is a big chance with the WTs able to offer more than the Dragons.
The Dragons forum seem to think that Kurt Mann, a utility is also on our radar.
I'm hoping that we put some attention into looking for a genuine winger to replace Kev, someone with pace. Milne, apparently is nearly here, possibly another week and would go straight into the centres giving us both pace and size, a decent winger and we are going to have some solidarity out wide

David mead would be a good signing. Better than any option tigers currently have and is quick too
Warrington are after him apparently.

BRISBANE face a battle to retain David Mead with English Super League club Warrington targeting the Broncos flyer.

Mead has had a turbulent beginning to his career at Red Hill, languishing in the Intrust Super Cup for five weeks before making his Broncos debut a fortnight ago following an injury to Corey Oates.

But Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has become such a fan of Mead’s attitude that he retained him on the bench against the Titans last Friday as Oates returned to the wing.

Off-contract at season’s end, the former Titan is on a meagre deal at the Broncos after taking a massive $200,000 pay cut to resurrect his career at Red Hill.

It is understood the 28-year-old caught the eye of Warrington scouts in February after Brisbane’s 27-18 loss to the Wolves in their World Club Series clash in England.

Mead faces a daunting task to crack Brisbane’s starting backline, especially with Jack Bird arriving next season, but the quest to win a title is likely to keep him in Australia.

“I haven’t got a manager yet … I’m representing myself so we’ll see what happens,” Mead said when asked about Warrington’s interest.

“I want to stay and I’m hoping the Broncos want to keep me. My family likes Brisbane and I really enjoy the culture of the club.

“Whether I move to England or Sydney, I have family here and I want to prioritise them, so I’d like to be here next year. It’s good to know there is interest, but the NRL is the best competition.

“Winning a premiership is the first thing on my mind and the Broncos give me the best chance of that.”

Mead stands to earn more money in the UK but Bennett is determined to fight to keep the PNG international.

He says Mead’s happy-go-lucky personality and work ethic since his arrival over summer has been infectious.

“I was surprised they (the Titans) let him go,” Bennett said.

“Dave is a quality person as well as a quality player. I’m pleased to have him at our club.”

Mead admits he feared the axe after Oates was cleared, but he is determined to succeed in his bench role as the Broncos sweat on the return of injured halfback Ben Hunt.

“It’s good to earn that respect from the coach,” he said.

“To be honest, I didn’t think I’d be retained. Oatesy is an Origin player, but it was good to be on the bench and play a role for the club.”

Brisbane is a club that wants to hang on to any and every good player
Basically trying to prevent the player going elsewhere and if they see a good talent they poach them

If he wants a starting position then the Tigers can offer him one, if he is content on being a bench player or filling in for injured players then he will obviously stay at Brisbane. Cleary needs to offer him a seat on the bus, somewhere up the front with a view !!

Hmm, if Matulino is on board, Packer would be very handy or Kane Evans if he's still available. Milne in the centres with Suli would be good and we need a winger with genuine speed as we have none at the moment.
