Yeah I'd like to see where he stands with all that money going to other players now… eventually he'l have to weigh up his future financially

Roberts has nothing between his ears, absolutely nothing. No way you would put him in the spine. Bloke probably has to eat sandwiches with knife and fork so he doesnt bite his fingers.

Roberts has speed, and nothing else. No footwork or anything….no thanks in my opinion

He's an awesome player lmao use are kidding yourselves

He's a good player but he's best used exactly where he is. His game is based around speed. He doesn't really have a step, he has a swerve and to use a swerve he needs to get up speed. Out wide he can get the ball at depth, get up some speed and beat single defenders. If you bring him in to fullback he needs to be able to get through traffic.

Dragons recruitment update, pretty insightful on the cap situation.

They have prioritised Dugan and Widdop.

I have a feeling that Teddy and Woods are waiting to see what our squad will look like next year before making a decision.

If we can sign a top line forward or two, and a marquee 5/8, that may give them the confidence they're after to commit long term.

If we don't make any decent signings then they will probably decide to move on.

I can't think of any other reason as to why a decision hasn't been made yet.

Kind of hard to know how much we have to spend until we know what Teddy and the other bloke are doing.

We are going after Widdop and Matalino regardless. These could be the key to our retention of Teddy and Woods.

Agree with this . If you read between all the negativity that's basically Teddy said .

"****Obviously the priority is to stay at the Tigers __and the performances lately haven't been very up to scratch," he said. "There is a lot of things to consider. Ivan has just come in and he seems very good at the moment too. Hopefully a bit of stability there in the coaching role will help us play better footy.

"The money is not an issue. Just our performances need to improve. Ivan might come in and prove that and I might see that long-term we will be able to win premierships. ****Also recruiting as well, I think we need to make some good signings in the next few years to be a strong club. ****Our squad at the moment is quite strong, we just haven't been consistent for many years."

That explains why things are not so cut dried as some think it should be and the knock on effect for all clubs in the current market..
WTs should take a leaf it would certainly alieviate some of the angst at the moment and take some heat off yhe players.

Cronk pushing for Widdop to replace him back at Melbourne - that will probably be the end of our chances of getting him.

Departing Storm halfback Cooper Cronk has nominated who should replace him in Melbourne.

While Cronk will move to Sydney in 2018 to be with his fiancee Tara Rushton, he believes Gareth Widdop should be heading in the opposite direction.

The 28-year old Dragons playmaker has already been linked to a return to his former team, and now the man who partnered him in the halves for four years has given his approval.

"It’s a fit, because one, he knows the history of the club, he understands the game plan," Cronk told Fox Sports.

"He likes the players and the players like him. Craig Bellamy knows him, his wife’s family are all based in Melbourne, so it all fits there.

"The thing is, is that the direction the club and Craig want to go to? I’m not privy to those conversations but I’m sure that will be worked out in the coming weeks."

However, with the off-contract Widdop being chased by a number of other clubs, including the Wests Tigers, Cronk said his team would happily take another of the game's free agents.

Backing an earlier endorsement from Billy Slater, Cronk says Kieran Foran would be a great fit.

"From the outside looking in, it looks like a really good fit," Cronk said.

"He plays similar to the way I play, nice and direct to the line and puts his backrowers through holes.

"Billy would obviously like to run off someone like Kieran Foran, but I think there’s a few other things that come into the story of Kieran Foran.

"One, what’s his price tag considering he’s taken some time off to get himself better and then two, I think his family’s in the Sydney so that plays a part.

"Craig’s a pretty diligent coach and the recruitment staff will look at the right people and come up with the right option."

Foran is reportedly looking to move to Sydney to be closer to his family in 2018, but Storm fullback Slater said he'd love him to be moving to the Victorian capital instead.

"I think he would suit the style of play down in Melbourne," Slater told The Footy Show.

"Just the directness that he plays with would certainly suit our style of football as well."

Maybe we should look at Todd Carney. Would have to negotiate with the NRL, but think they would find it hard to justify that people convicted of beating women and jailbirds with serious assault and drug charges are allowed to play, while an idiot photographed urinating in his own mouth is banned for life.

Should have worn a white ribbon design jersey today.

Kane Evans and Aiden guerra have been spoken about today I've told. Cleary has a direction he wants to go but is being ham strung by Tedesco and woods futures. Will expect to see him push the envelope to have this resolved in the next week.

I thought Kane Evans signed with the Eels or did I imagine that?

I don't think Evans has signed anywhere

Hunt is signed for $1.2 million per season for 3 years I'm pretty sure. Dragons will not have much cash left after paying Hunt, Dugan, Widdop, Frizell, Vaughn and De Bellin next year if Dugan and Widdop stay.

Aiden Guerra has been playing like a busted this season and last season. No thanks.
Being a current/ex Origin player he would want top-dollar as well. Hope we stay away from him like the plague.

I also read that he had signed a 3 year deal with the Eels but it may have been paper talk!!

Kirisome Auva'a scored tries against us last night. In January 2014 he violently attacked an ex-girlfriend. Pleading guilty, he was given a two-year good behaviour bond. The NRL suspended him for nine months and put him on a counselling programme for various issues. His winger team mate has similar issues. The issue of a drunken Carney urinating pales in comparison with these two. Ironically the NRL strongly supports non-violence to women as does Wests tigers, remember Robert Lui?
